The historic charm of the main house and common areas quickly evaporated when we were ushered into our "large extended suite," which was a long, skinny, one-bedroom apartment decorated 100% with cheap Ikea furnishings. The romantic weekend I had planned for my new love turned into an embarrassment for me. Plus the bathroom sink was clogged. How does that even...

As soon as we walked in the door, it felt like we were taking a step back in time. We were greeted and given a tour of the property. Don't worry about not having an elevator, there aren't very many stairs and the staff will take care of your luggage. We stayed on the third floor in room 302. The...

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at the Morris House Hotel. It was conveniently located across the street from Wills Eye Institute where my husband was having eye surgery. We stayed in a suite which was very roomy and had a kitchenette. Although this is a historic building, the rooms had been nicely updated. We were not in...

The Morris House Hotel is one of the most beautiful gems in a prime location in downtown Philadelphia. The Morris House sits street front at 225 South 8th Street and is only steps away from all the historical tourist attractions. The staff is extremely attentive and will see to your every need. Be aware, there is no elevator, but the...

Absolutely delightful. From the moment I walked through the door the staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The concierge took the time to take me through the history of the building, which for a visitor not only to Philadelphia but to the USA was wonderful and most welcome. The room we stayed in was just gorgeous, I really have...

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Morris House Hotel. The rooms were nice and kind of charming. Rooms out to the street are not noisy, breakfast was great. Once we went to have breakfast at the restaurant, once we enjoyed room service, which was really nice. The only improvement I would recommend is a sign to find...

Built in 1787, the Morris House Inn is a delightful historic property in the Washington Square district of Philadelphia. It has 15 rooms in two buildings, the main house and an annex where M Restaurant is located (hotel guests get 10% off their restaurant bill). We stayed in Room 402, directly above the restaurant and facing the courtyard. It is...

The Morris House Hotel is quaint, clean and has a warm, historic vibe the minute you walk through the door. We stayed two nights in Room 401, directly above the restaurant, and the room was set up like a large one bedroom apartment. Our only slight complaint is noise. The train runs underground and you can definitely feel and hear...

So beautifully restored you can't tell it has been restored. Beautiful touches all over the hotel, it's like walking back into the 18th century. Cordial, articulate, thoughtful staff. Delicious menu. Don't miss the chance to experience history!

Very charming, small hotel in a very good location. Room was warm, very clean and nicely furnished...overlooking the cobbled interior courtyard. Very quiet...no street noise.
