I have been coming here for about 7 years. There are events nearby that I enjoy, but I come by myself, and while there are nearby hotels, they are quite expensive. The setting is really pretty and restful. I have always found the staff to be friendly. There are budget tours and high schools who come here on a regular... More

Lovely place, gorgeous surroundings. Really not that much of a walk to the bus stop, it's literally two roads, you can't get lost! You don't need a car to stay here, some people are clearly very lazy. Only about a 10 minute walk if that, bus goes straight into city and stops at loads of great places on the way.... More

As others have noted, this is not a downtown location - which is reflected in the price. That said, it is removed from a lot of noise and offers a secure place to sleep. The staff is friendly enough, once they are sure you aren't going to bite them. (Ie., you reap what you sow.) If you are a HI... More

I came to Chamounix for a week stay and from night one, it was like I was staying in an, I don't know what, a nightmare maybe? Yes, a nightmare. I found out more about the place from people in Philly, then began to understand why it has select guests that are a little, well, let's say "hostile" and "antagonistic."... More

I stayed here while seeing some concerts at The Mann. It was clean, friendly, there was a kitchen. Hot as hell but what can you do? It was $25 per night with an 11-4:30 lock out and 2am curfew. I'd stay there again when visiting Philly. It is in Fairmount Park, very quiet section and only about 2 miles from... More

What a gorgeous and peaceful building they have here . . . It's not the most social hostel, and it draws a different crowd because it's not in the inner city, but if you want to spend a peaceful time in the pleasant Fairmount Park, you can't do much better than this. You can rent a bike for free, and... More

If you have car the location is great; bus is about 1 mile away. The staff is friendly. Clean with linens. I use it as a quite place to relax after long days of research and study. A great place to relax. The kitchen is clean. There were few quests when I visit so privacy and quiet is abundant. The... More

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The management was super nice, and the cats outside were really cute. The location was really great because it was quite and there was plenty of parking, although if you had a car I think it would have been a problem because it was far from downtown. The showers were super nice and... More

This is a lovely hostel set in Fairmount Park. The staff were friendly and eager to help. The rooms were bursting with character. The free breakfast of pancakes and coffee set us up for the morning. As they say, it is maybe not for you if you are looking for a bustling hostel downtown, but we had three children and... More

This was one of the worst places I ever seen. Horrible service. Sketchy worker that stays there as previous post suggests. Beds are a joke. Very uncomfortable. Not close to anything for the price. There's a lot of hostels in that area that is way better to stay at. I wouldn't recommend this to an enemy.
