I just tried to book a reservation for next week via the property website which was 'up and running' with no notice other than once attempted with date entry etc, a notice displayed 'unavailable to accept reservations at this time' - not sold out or anything of that nature. So, as stated on the website that when unable to book online, to call the hotel directly, I did just that. After 6 rings (or more) a recorded message came on informing that the hotel had been sold to the Mammoth Mountain Corp and that all confirmed Sierra Lodge Reservations would be honored at the Mammoth Mountain Inn at the rate that was confirmed at time of booking, and to contact the Mammoth Mountain Inn. Such a shame, I have enjoyed this unique, locally owned property since the '90s. I wonder how many other properties in that area may become subject to an acquisition, driving up prices, etc.

Very rude customer service. Background: I had booked a night for the 25th and needed to change to the 24th. When I adjusted date in Expedia I used wrong cc info so didn’t go through but had no phone service in Yosemite so didn’t get the email and showed up in person on 24th. They had no rooms left for that night so had to find a different hotel and I cancelled in person for the 25th. The next day they sent me this message

Wanted to share that management are good people here - I requested to leave a day early (due to weather) and even though they didn’t have to , they refunded that prepaid day. I appreciated that. Clean, older property with that ‘broken-in’ feel of so many ski town motels. Handy kitchenette. Keep your expectations in check, and will do the job just fine!

The Sierra Lodge provided everything our family of 4 plus dog needed. This hotel has a lot of charm & a casual ski lodge feel. Rusty the manager did an amazing job accommodating every request. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a convenient location with comfy beds and nice staff. The room was clean and it was easy to overlook that it was a bit outdated. We loved our room with a balcony and heater we used to easily dry our ski clothing after the slopes. We walked the dog around the safe neighborhood and went across the street for good eats. We are sooo looking to coming back again. Thanks Sierra Lodge for a wonderful 3-nights stay between Christmas and new years. Ps. Upon check out I noticed the staff meticulously steam cleaning the carpet in one of the rooms and really deep cleaning others. Given that the lodge was sold out it was exceptionally clean, warm and welcoming.

Back again for the 4ᵗʰ time. Rusty & Yessica were friendly as always. Like the new upgrades they doing in the rooms. See you next month. Thanks ⛷🐰 Yes, it’s an old building & dated but it’s clean, rooms are big, with mini kitchenette, or try their continental breakfast. Has plenty free underground parking. All Staff were great & friendly. First visit 4 night stay at end of February 2019. It’s an easy 10/15 minute walk to village or jump on the free bus right outside lodge to gondola or ski area. It’s my place to stay all ski season now. Easy located to old town as well. Thanks guys for making it welcoming! See you soon ⛷

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. You’ll fine yourself repeating this all too often while here. Wifi? Ugh. Unusable would be a compliment. Heating? Ugh. Freezing rooms, which is kind of a big deal at a ski resort. I guess the shower was usable. Not sure I can find anything else good to say about the place.

Travelfiend, We have some of the best Wi-Fi in Mammoth Lakes lodging. Unfortunately, the entire town is underserviced with bandwidth and when town is full EVERYONE'S Wi-Fi is slow. That is for residents and tourists alike. We have discussed it the responsible parties and are hoping that they will improve it in the future. As far as the heating issue we wish you would have told us. We would've directed you to the thermostat that every room has and when used properly it turns on a large electrical heater that heats each unit individually. When turning the thermostat on we have never had a single issue with heating. We apologize that you did not enjoy your stay, but we are sure we could've made it much better if you would've communicated with us.

Hotel’s in nice location. Quick and easy check in. Plenty parking spots and couple doors to go in and out of the hotel. Comfy bed and spacious room. Had a huge Bathroom too! Carpet could use some cleaning or maybe change. I asked if they could waive the Resort Fee since pools & jacuzzis were closed, but they declined. I mean, Atleast offer some amenities or activities (like smores or maybe some water upon arrival?) for the RF being charge. Hotel has potential though.

Sierra Lodge is nice. Good location, staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean. It is outdated and the carpeting could use a good cleaning. The a/c for the room is disconnected and they have a portable unit and a standing fan to take it's place. The handicapped parking space is in an awkward spot and would not be easy to get in and out of. We did get a good deal through Booking.com and the noise level wasn't too bad. Would we stay again? I won't say no but I think we'll check out other places first before returning.

The Sierra Lodge was all set to receive a nice solid 3 star review. Then on check out day, as I'm leaving my room, I noticed housekeeping in the room across the hall. There were four housekeepers talked in the room, one apparently a supervisor with the clipboard, and everyone's mask was pulled down around their neck. Earlier when one of the housekeepers saw me oh, she pulled the mask over her mouth. But this time I guess I caught them off guard. I've been here for three days and overall what I saw was pretty good covid-19 compliance. The front desk staff were wearing masks, and there was a hand sanitizer dispenser in the parking garage. housekeeping staff are one of the most significant ways you could catch covid-19 in a hotel. You let your guard down in the room, and you don't tend to sanitize every surface.
