Choose this place based on other reviews. It delivered as promised. Very reasonable prices, interesting rooms, and so convenient for the ferry. It was wonderful to just walk across the street for the morning ferry to Cumberland Island. Owners were friendly. Other members of our group called the hotel "darling". The rooms are all different so check out their floorplan...

I so agree with the review "charming to seedy." For $120 per room one would expect more than ratty furniture, no kleenex or shampoo or hair dryer in the bathrooms, cracked tiles etc. Correct: the staff/owners do not care. While they were not surly or rude, they weren't cheery or helpful either. Oh, expect space heaters if it is cold...

If you come expecting much more than a bare bones lodging experience, you'll be disappointed. If you marvel at the location and the novelty of staying at such an old and interesting building, and you can sleep through happy sounds, traffic noises and really rough and noisy air conditioning units pumping out for all they are worth....well, you might actually...

We have 5 couples on this trip. The hotel is historic but clean and comfortable. we especially enjoyed the second floor porch. We brought our own snacks and drinks, the weather was beautiful. We were able to enjoy people watching and the music on the festival stage.

We have been coming here for 5 years and it has gone from charming to seedy to run down. For $108 a night (+ taxes etc) you get a basic room with beat up used furniture, a bed with a hard mattress, missing doorknobs, a Visegrips on the bathtub faucet, a cracked sink and an ancient AC unit. The internet...

Really historic with antiques everywhere. Outside is plain. Restaurant was closed for some renovation and we had chosen the hotel on part because the restaurant was highly recommended. We wished we had known in advance that it was closed. Lobby was filled with mattresses. Not much ambiance there. Breakfast was cold items and not that interesting. All in all not...

We stayed at the Riverview over the weekend while visiting nearby Cumberland Island National Seashore (The hotel is across the street from the ferry) The hotel was a delight. Old and creaky. Faithfully restored 100-year old hotel, including 100-year old mattress. A little skimpy on the towels as well but these are minor issues compared to the enjoyment of a...

The owners of this hotel clearly don't care. We were barely acknowledged when we arrived. No customer service. The beds are old and sagging. The most expensive room, the suite is directly over the bar, so you hear all bar noise. So, terrible service, awful beds, and noise.. Bad

Stayed here on our way to Tampa. Good stopping off place for Cumberland Island. Old and dated but worth the price. Rooms are small but close to things. Ferry to Cumberland is out the door. Lots of character and potential. Nice bar/ restaurant, Sleagles, next door. Friendly staff.

My husband and I traveled to St Marys for a long weekend in January and had the privilege of staying at the Riverview hotel. We stayed in the Martha room which gave us a perfect view of the river across the street. Even though the rooms are decorated with period furnishings the bed was very comfortable. We requested additional towels...
