I was a bit scared by the reviews but went ahead and booked here for a night. The room was clean, warm and fits the motel 6 room updates. The property is quite large with many rooms. Our room was in the back which was quieter but we could still hear people closing their car doors through the thin windows. There's a fence around the property so it seemed safe (no random people walking around). You can ask the front desk for a hair dryer as it's not provided in the room. Stayed here for a night before going to Channel Island National Park. It's only a 5 minute car ride to the harbor. There's a McDonald's and a Weinersnitzel right outside the motel. I'd stay here again on a quick budget trip.
Staff constantly lying and deceiving you. Can't make any changes or modifications to your reservation without unreachable manager. Wanted price adjustment or to cancel 2 out of 3 nights of our stay as current rate was way lower than we booked. the moment we arrived and front desk did not know what kind if any cancellation fees applied or how to do it and said couldn't be done without manager Sidney, urged to see her at office at 7am to not be charged for next night, 7am staff says manager never comes in before 9am, often by 11 but to just come in every hour to look for her ....never found her over 3 days...Sassy staff pretty much uses every strategy in the book to con you into being forced to stay at their hotel. Have a note behind the counter to make notes on customer profiles if they complain, tiny ants all over our room attacking any bits of food we had, no room cleaning over 3 days - with kids at a beachside hotel meant sand absolutely everywhere and no way to even sweep the floor. Staff were hosing/pressure washing walkways of hotel at 2am, which was disruptive, and although room was freshly painted, it stunk like wet paint. I just gave up trying to cancel our stay - how can front desk staff not know how to make cancellations to your reservation? …
the beds were terrible it felt like a waterbed without the water to much noise i asked for a handicap room i got a regular one by the way it was not a bed it was just a very loose mattress don t stay here not worth it
No one ever responded to my emails or phone calls. Service was shockingly terrible and they seemed to find it amusing, treating people like trash. There is no one to even hold accountable because they are franchised and they make managers intentionally unreachable - if they even have any at all. Saving $10-20 isn't worth it if it means you can't even sleep. Go to the other Motel 6's in the area if you want the same price point for acceptable service.
A basic room with only a fridge. Was clean, but had wimpy towels, iffy mattress, and worn out pillows. Does have a good location and less $$$ than other hotels in the area. My main complaint was management allowed late night partying in the parking lot with loud music and alcohol and my room did not receive any service after our first night. When we left the room the second morning, the cleaning lady was next door and we asked for service. The desk person the next morning claimed they do not service rooms during multiple nights and was in the fine print. Have yet to see it, The cleaning lady should have said something if that's the case, and I could have at least got clean towels
We called an hour ahead for a booking and arrived at 7:30pm. It is a bit pricey, considering there are few, in room amneties exceot for a fridge and TV. There was no coffee maker and no microwave in our room. The water pressure was low in the sink, but the shower had good water pressure. The floor was sandy and gummy, but otherwise the room was clean. We had a good sleep. Fortunately the people above us were quiet, as the ceiling is not sound proof.
This is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Was assigned a room that didn’t have working AC. The temperature outside was at least 20 degrees cooler and the unit would only trickle out hot air. Asked Gina at the front desk to move us to a different room. She declined, saying that it was their “policy” and that they were not authorized to move us to a different room until maintenance went to the room and confirmed that the AC wasn’t working. We waited in the room for a half hour, sweating waiting for the gentleman to come. Maintenance never came so we walked over to the office and waited there while maintenance supposedly went to the room to check. Gina said he confirmed the AC was working. Either maintenance or Gina was lying, or the maintenance guy never checked the room at all. She refused to move us to a different room, even though they confirmed they have other similar rooms available. She also refused to refund our money. Going to be sleeping in my car tonight. Find somewhere else to stay. All the negative reviews are legit.…
All I can say … avoid . Rather stay in your car . When we arrived a couple walked out of reception saying to us . “ don’t stay here “ wish I took their advice… Charl du toit Motel 6 review We had the worst experience we ever had with a hotel booking . We booked a twin room with twin beds ( me and a friend traveling) on Booking.com ( great customer service , fully refunded our booking ) . We arrived at this location to be informed that they prepared a double room with a double bed for us . This , we informed the receptionist, must be a mistake, not what we booked , and do you have a room with two singles available? Yes we have , she said , but you can’t have it ….!! Now it’s the same price no difference? But refused to amend our booking ! To top it all . A person walked in off the street and booked the last available twin room as we stood at discussing this matter with the receptionist . We were asked to leave!!! As nothing was available…. They still took our money! To this day kept it …. And marked us as a no show on Booking.com!!! Could you guys learn this lesson? Every employee has a bad attitude and treat you as if you are stupid when you ask any questions but they don't have any smart answers to give you. The female manager is a joke she walks around the entire property with her boyfriend talking crap and laughing about how much she doesn't care about any costumers. Every time I have been in the front office there is always someone saying they were disrespected in some way and she stands there with a little smirk. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else the ants and roaches will eat everything in your dirty room while your trying to unclog the toilet that was left from the previous customer. There is a reason this is a 2 star place and it shows the moment you step out the car
Friendly frontdesk and housekeeping staff. The problem is the corporation, years ago Motel 6 was a better place to stay, the place looks bad, seems like the corporate don't want to speng money to attract new costumers. I had the same sensation in Motel 6 in LA. Not planning to stay in this motel change for now.
