The hotel and staff were above our expectations! The rooms were beautiful with a great view right on the beach. Every associate we encountered was extremely friendly and we loved exploring the town of Ventura! We will definitely be back!
Spent the week at the Crown Plaza, Ventura Beach with my daughter. This hotel is right on the beach, the rooms are spacious and have balconies overlooking the Pacific and the view is spectacular. Best views are had from 5th floor and above. The hotel staff is amazing - gym, heated outdoor pool, restaurant, and patio available to guests. We looked at many other hotel options, nothing compares to the Crown Plaza. I would stay here again.
I booked 8 rooms at the Crown Plaza to take my students on a university tour, and right off the bat it was VERY easy to book and pre-pay. The customer service was excellent, and when I showed up, everything was as expected. The front desk was GREAT, and they even upgraded my room to a suit as the only "chaperon" for 15 young college aged students (which was highly appreciated ;-) ) Not to mention the location was beautiful. I would definitely recommend.
Location is good, close proximity to shops/restaurants - about a 10 min walk. However, this hotel is situated right next to the freeway and the traffic noise is really loud. Strive to book a room on a high floor with a room number that ends in a zero or 1 (800 or 801, 700 or 701, 600 or 601, etc) then you will be closer the ocean and further from the freeway. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, rooms have been renovated and are nicely appointed. Would return back but will make sure I'm on the west side of the property in room 600, 700, 800 or 900.
The hotel is fantastic! Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. And you can't beat the location. It's on the beach and two blocks from the downtown area so you don't need a car once you are here. I believe every room has a balcony with ocean views.
We stayed at this property for acouple of days in April. The room was large, spacious and well maintained. We had a "sunset view" room. Location was perfect. Just a few steps away from the pier and within walking distance (about 5 mins) to downtown (old) Ventura with lots of restaurants. Due to COVID the restaurant was not yet open for dinner, only for breakfast. The beachfront bar does have lunch and dinner options.Breakfast was decent. Due to the nearby highway and railway line it is a bit noisi when you open the windows, but with closed windows nothing disturbs. Rooms are cleaned only uüpon request. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel.
Don’t let your children touch the remotes. Every thing is pay per view without notice. Once something is purchased it plays and you can’t stop it for more than 7 minutes because it continues to play in your absence without your knowledge. Hotel staff won’t do anything about it and don’t care.
We just stayed 4 nights in an executive suite, sunset view, and it was fantastic! The entire staff, from GM Mr. Quintana, to valet, registration desk, restaurant and bar staff - super nice, friendly and kind. We look forward to next years visit, and already planning it!
The hotel is perfect if you want to surf - it's right on the point. If you want to go for a long scenic runs, the trails are great. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had the basics. There is free parking in the garage next to the hotel if you don't want to pay $10 a day. The pool is awesome. I didn't use the gym but it looked nice. Where the hotel failed was with the staff - they acted like zombies. No good morning, no thank you, no hello, no welcome. When they ran out of milk for the coffee, and I asked for more, the front desk person acted offended. and inconvenienced. The captain of this hotel really needs to train this staff on what it means to work in hospitality. Or maybe the management is awful and it is having an effect on the morale. hard to tell but something is wrong. The food at the hotel is also terrible. Do not eat here. Powdered eggs for breakfast, inedible $20 sandwiches, are some examples. Go into town - lots of good restaurants to choose from and walkable.…
We really enjoyed our stay here and I was very happy with everything. We had come to Ventura last year and walked the beach and when we saw how perfectly located the hotel is, we decided we'd stay there some time soon. The hotel is right on the beach, very near the pier and walking the other direction, you can be on main street in a couple of minutes walking. The rooms were nice-the suites were bigger than we expected and the bedding was very comfortable. Every room has a balcony with a beach view. My only disappointment was the weather didn't permit us to take advantage of drinking morning coffee there. But that isn't an issue too often in Southern California. Check in was nice, and everyone was very helpful and friendly, from front desk to the restaurant and bar. I can't compliment the staff enough. I worried a little about reading reviews about the train. It does pass very infrequently and sounds the horn once as it goes in. We weren't bothered by it as it didn't happen at all hours of the night. I think 3, maybe 4 times during the whole day it came by. Everything looked nice and new...furniture wasn't worn, carpet looked fresh. The hotel has been around a while and I hoped it had been refurbished along the way. It has been. I think the only part of our stay we didn't like was having to check out!!…
