Management needs to train their maids in how to properly clean a room. Also, they need to assign someone tp pick up litter from the premises on a daily basis. If room rates have to be raised slightly in order to do this, it would be well worth it.

Going to the USA on a business trip is always interesting and as a work requirement they like employees to go for hotels with breakfast - hence choosing La Quinta.

So first impressions, well with the sat nav provided by Alamo it was almost impossible to find, however switching to google maps on my phone got me there with no issues, worth noting though is that the entrance to the hotel is immediately after the Gas station. The reception was clean and tidy and the receptionist was quick to serve get me booked in, the security guard laying on the couch in reception was an interesting touch.

I got to my room ( top floor in the back block), the room was clean, spacious, equipped with a fridge, microwave, 1 cup coffee maker, tv, bath & Shower, hair dryer, iron and board.

The bath & shower was separate from the WC and a reasonable size, towels were provided and enough for 1

So I’d have to say for me it was equipped
well.

First night I slept well, however I’d have to put some of that down to jet lag, the only real criticism would be that the air con unit is noisy, and given the temp it would kick in every 1/2 hour.

The inn advertised breakfast included however I’d say that the breakfast was the biggest disappointment, I appreciate that Covid has changed so many things in the world but even taking this into account breakfast could be improved.
To put this into context mine was a grab bag consisting of a pastry & cereal bar, an apple, and a juice box.

I've stayed here on and off throughout the years when I'm in town visiting family, and it's gone downhill a LOT- you should find somewhere else to stay. This was my last visit. When we got to the room (passing an abandoned toilet brush in the hall) there was only shampoo to wash our hands with, no soap bars, and the front desk guy said they were just...out. Of soap. At a hotel.

If you read the reviews of this place, you'll see generic polite and apologetic notes from the general manager on all of them (I'm sure this review will have one too eventually). I'm guessing the manager is spending all their time doing this on all the review sites instead of running a hotel. How do you run out of soap?

There's also mold in the bathroom, everything is just kind of falling apart around the edges, the towels are frayed, the mattresses needed to be replaced years ago, there's tons of traffic noise, and it's just...basically an incredibly crummy roadside 1-star hotel but you're still paying standard La Quinta prices for it.

I'm going to send a note to corporate about this La Quinta basically being an incredibly poor representation of the brand.

The Reservation Desk was Exceedingly Helpful, Sincere, Welcoming & Compassionate! Layout of the grounds can accomode multiple big rigs/Heavy work crews/RVs, while still easily providing ample curbside parking closest to the buildings all the way around. The elevator and vending placement is ideal, as well as all the exterior lighting of breezeways, particularly love that it's incapable of blinding my room occupants, even if the thoughtful planning of the room layout angles protect the heads of the bed--EAT YOUR HEART OUT motel 6! The hall sconces are placed along the walls btwm rooms & a warm yellow glow, only overhead lit the elevator alcove and vending alcove, Perfection! [The garish overhead white lighting of many strict compounds -oops I mean {motels w/number} Is deplorable!] The Intetior Decor of the guestroom was DIVINE, Superb flawless paint job w/crown molding & multiple cool, neutral tones! Accent with 2 nature prints was the perfect green touch! Hubby really loved the multiple port Tabletop outlet/business class touches. All this yet still minimalist, crisp & clean without sacrificing warmth & class. Everything was flawlessly cleaned in light of [Covid19], This stay was a rescue related to the struggle we all now share. Thanks so much La Quinta Ventura! Respected my service as a Veteran of the US Navy, & everyone serving (Now&Again). Continental bfast cancelled in lieu of cleanliness, so no skin off my nose, but the lobby had well furnished availability for purchase of sealed.

The first room we were assigned smelled like a wet ashtray. We were given another room. The second room wasn't cleaned correctly. We found cigarettes and trash behind a chair in the corner. The air conditioner filter was filthy and had "stuff" falling off the grate and the controller on the wall literally fell off. The toilet barely flushed.

The security door (from the outside) directly across from out room door wouldn't latch and could be opened by simply pulling on it instead of unlocking it with our key card.

The button panel on the elevator, located on the far side of the facility, was falling apart and barely functional.

The location turned out to be very noisy as it was next to a busy street and the freeway (loud cars and horns into the early morning hours).

Dear Sean, I appreciate your feedback. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have when staying with us! Your feedback will help us improve our operation. I am extremely sorry to hear that several things were not up to your expectations. We are a non-smoking hotel, however, some guests still choose to smoke in the room. In situations like this, they would be charged a $ 250 smoking penalty and will not be able to rent again. I understand this may not help with your stay, but we are doing everything possible to reduce guests from smoking in the room. Thank you for letting us know the areas that did not meet your expectations. We will definitely look at the items you mentioned and correct any deficiencies we find. Thanks again for the feedback.

I had to go to Ventura for an expo and all close lodging was full by the time I booked a room. La Quinta was one of the only options left. I booked months in advance. When I arrived, the staff was immediately rude. Our key card didn't work because they gave our room to another family as well. When we finally got a new room the sink wouldn't drain. When I called for the sink and additional cleaning services I was told that the staff wasn't allowed in the room until after we checked out, so it was useless. By the end of my stay trash and used towels were piled up. I did my best to keep it clean but it would have been nice to at least have housekeeping collect the trash during the stay, especially for their own benefit.

Dear Guest, I appreciate your feedback. I am extremely sorry to hear that housekeeping services were not up to your expectations. Due to still ongoing COVID pandemic housekeepers will not enter the room during your stay while you are still occupying the room. Daily housekeeping services will resume once it is safer to do so without jeopardizing the safety of the guest or the staff. Amenities such as towels, linen, and other bath items could be picked up at the front desk or we could get them delivered to your room or have housekeeping exchange items and throw out trash. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you again for the feedback.

As soon as the hotel heard the highway was closed to our destination and all the hotels were booked in the area the office raised their prices from what we were quoted, and the front desk said they were overbooked. We had to spend a second night and they increased the price again. There was no room service the second night. When we complained, the front desk said we should have told you that was their policy No clean towels, wash clothes, garbage full, and even on the first night there was no soap by the sink The pillows were round, and hard as a rock. The La Quinta Inn needs a complete renovation if they want to stay in business.

I stayed here two years ago and the room was great.

This time I stayed with my mom, and now there's a laundry list of issues:

My mom requested towels from the maid, but they never arrived. She had to go to the front desk for new towels.

Toilet wouldn't flush (I reattached the part that had come apart, and the water in the tank was totally disgusting).

There were holes in the front curtain that we plugged with kleenex so people couldn't see in.

The tub was covered in grime.

One of the lights wouldn't turn on, even after using a different outlet.

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had and I won't be staying at any other Wyndham properties again if this is the way they run their company.

So many things that were disappointing during my stay starting with the unattractive look of the property (trash on the grounds and pathways, cigarette butts, ugly surroundings, barren views) and the uncleanliness of my room. There was a small pile of doggie kibble in a corner of my room. I don't know how long it had been there but it certainly would have been a magnet for roaches or ants!! When I called it to the attention of a passing housekeeper she was slow to react. Unbelievable. The bedspreads had dirt stains on them. The cup wrappers had coffee stains on them.

Other problems included there being only 4 hangers in the closet, the bathroom sink had no stopper AND the drain had a foul odor emanating from it. Shower pressure was very low

The pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable.

The room felt claustrophobic because of the close bushes blocking the swimming pool directly outside of my door (I was on the ground floor).

No extra outlets near the bed for charging devices.
WiFi is free but requires no password and so is extremely insecure. I got many warnings from my browser that it was not secure and that the certificate was out of date. Maybe they should require a password and just give it to the guests?

The breakfast was abysmal. White paper bags with pre-packaged goods? No juice machines? "Waffles" in plastic wrap that tasted horrible? I expected more from reading the website bragging about a "grab and go" breakfast.

On the plus side, the staff was pleasant and responsive. The TV was nice (Showtime, yay!) although the remote was tricky and the 'fridge was a nice size and froze things well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom area was roomy. There were plenty of doggie bag stations around the property for folks who had dogs.

Rented 2 rooms w/ double beds on 04/2/2021. Both rooms were disgusting!! #345 smelled like human feces and further inspection, the toilet had skid marks and it was obvious that the room hadn't been cleaned even under current Covid 19 requirements. #341 bed was unmade and toilet had urine in it. Hair in the sink and No towels and what appeared to be sperm or spit dripping down curtains. Room #345 was exchanged for #331 which appeared to be fine but no other rooms were available for #341. Upon bringing situation to light with the front desk at 9:45PM was told that rooms don't always get cleaned and it appears that ours was one of them. She then handed me a pile of sheets with a towel and stated that they had no other rooms. This establishment should be shut down and fined for non compliance to Covid 19 rules. I will never recommend nor stay here ever again.!

We will share your comments with the housekeeping staff and investigate if the room you were checked in to was a clean room or a room that was missed by the staff as we don't rent rooms without cleaning as you mentioned. You have to request a refrigerator by calling the Ventura La Quinta. I requested one when I made the reservation thru the national reservation phone # and that does not guarantee that you'll get a fridge. Our room was clean and there were no bugs.
