The management was nice enough, and the room, though outdated and in desperate need of repair (broken electrical outlets, hole in closet door, broken tv remote, damaged mirror) was generally clean. But the reason I have to give it one star is the BEDBUG bites I had all over my back after staying there one night. Also—I can corroborate the stories of garbage in the parking lot and shady people walking around the premises at all hours.

With low end Motels (Motel 6, etc) being suplimented and used as temporary shelter for those suffering eviction from the consequences of COVID, there is is an unblemished Gem waiting for you on the North end of Thompson Blvd in old Ventura called the Travelers Beach Inn. You still can get a room with "ROOM" plus daily service, a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker included. Don't let the actual wood, tile, and rugs fool you. They are worn, yet clean and safe. You can be sure I'll pass up the chain messes and go with this blast from the past my next stay.

As the least expensive motel available, I was concerned it would be poorly kept. I was gratified to discover that they were in the process of upgrading instead. The bed was brand new, with a memory foam topper, and was perfect for a long stay while waiting for an apartment. It's definitely a 1- or 2-star place, and the residents can be a bit odd at times, but it was remarkably quiet nonetheless. But for the price, it was quite nice.
