The hotel is generally good. I was upgraded to a harbor view which was nice. The breakfast was a 6 out of 10. The main issue I had was.... I was in the building above the front desk and there is a 2nd story walkway that connects to the second building. I was staying next to the door that led to the second building and this exterior door would slam at all hours. I mean slam and wake me from a dead sleep. Woken up 2-4 times a night. Hotel did not comp a night, but gave me a free 1 night voucher for that hotel.

Hotel's Favourite
This was the most reasonable chain hotel in the area, although still a bit more than we liked to spend. We were given a larger room than expected with a balcony. It was quiet with very comfortable beds. We were told to expect noise from the local sea lions but didn’t hear them for more than a minute.

I have stayed here about 5 times when traveling on business. The price is right, the rooms are clean, and they give you a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning. You can also walk through the beautiful harbor and to the beach if you are up for a little leg stretch. My big problem is the parking lot. On my last trip I woke up to get my breakfast and found my rental car completely under water. I received no notice from the hotel that the parking lot was filling up. My rental car was under water up to the mid seat level along with many other guest vehicles. I missed my flight due to this and had to spend an extra night in LA. Now I have to deal with the destroyed vehicle.

Wonderful option for a couple nights in Ventura! I almost didn’t stay at this hotel because of the negative reviews, and I am specifically writing this to others in my place to let them know that it’s a clean, pleasant, well-located, viable option for families or anyone. We booked this because the room configuration at this price point in Ventura is rare - two queen beds with a sofa bed. This is critical for a family with two teen boys that prefer not to share a bed, to avoid having to book two rooms. We arrived the night before Thanksgiving, much later than expected, around 6pm. Our chosen room was not only waiting for us, but we were checked in with courtesy and given a choice of floor. Had a bit of a hiccup with opening the door because the door does stick - you have to push down hard on the latch. But once in, we loved our room. It was well-laid out, with thoughtful touches, such as an entryway with a corner key shelf, well-oriented microwave/coffee/refrigerator space, plentiful desk space with office chair, an ottoman that we could use as another seat, a clean balcony looking out to the harbor with two chairs and a small table, and of course extremely comfortable beds. The bathroom was spotless with nice Dove products. We slept comfortably, and the walkway outside was quiet both nights we stayed. Our car was safe in the parking lot, with more than enough parking. It’s not the most walkable choice, so I’d only recommend if you are arriving with a car. I grew up in Ventura, and it was lovely to stay near the Harbor. We drove over right after checking out and enjoyed the restaurants and vibe there, although do note parking at the Village gets packed by the afternoon. The location is a 10-15 minute drive to anywhere in town. I will stay again.

My second time, as always. Excellent staff in a nice hotel. In addition to having excellent employee character, Ms. Paulina went above and beyond. The suite accommodations with the harbor view were large and lovely. The lovely sunset is seen. The beach and Harbor Village are nearby.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights, arriving at 4PM with an LAX rental car. A nice receptionist checked my driver’s license and took our credit card for room, parking and $100 deposit. Our key card listed the wifi code, meal times, and opened the glass doors on the annex to the north where we parked. Room #247 was perfect Holiday Inn with very comfortable queens and a choice of 4 pillows. The fully outfitted bathroom had a large tiled shower, separate sink area across a refrigerator, micro and Keurig coffee, all with quick hot water. Nice TV with 40 channels and a good guide, desk with outlets, good wifi & chair. Sliding glass door(blackout drapes) to the balcony with 2 chairs. The spacious room has decent lighting, lower wall AC with temperature control and secure WIFI. The 6:30 AM breakfast buffet was serviced & excellent; OJ, ripe fruits, cereals(no Muesli) with almond/soy milk, oatmeal, scrambled/hard boiled eggs, turkey bacon, yogurt, breads/muffins and coffees. This was a perfect hotel to take the harbor walkway 1 mile around the active fishing port with barking sea lions, numerous restaurants and the Island Packers boat to the Channel Islands.

Excellent new rooms , 12 ft ceilings, view of marina. All clean and comfortable. Nice location on Harbor. Pleasant weather. Fun to walk around marina to restaurants on the water. Numerous choices. Kind of dusty farmland around Ventura, so nice to pull into.

Would give it a 2.5. On the positive side the room was nice, spacious and clean with a balcony an nice view of the harbor. On the negative side it smelled outside (not sure if hotel or just from the harbor where the water looked nasty). A lot of sketchy people outside during our stay. The bed was on a high platform to where I had to jump up a bit to sit on it ( I am 6’tall). Breakfast was very minimal and not well serviced as they never did make oatmeal and ran out of eggs, bananas and English muffins by 8. Might do better at the Sheraton across the street or Crowne Plaza by the pier. Would try someplace else if I stayed here again even though the room itself was satisfactory.

Super clean, updated, amazing breakfast! I booked this hotel for my parents who were staying in town, they absolutely loved it. They spent time walking to the shops and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend, staff was helpful and awesome.
