When we arrived at our room for our second stay at this hotel, the window was wide open and the dripping air conditioner running full blast. Management response was to put towels on wet carpet, stating no other rooms available, not able to contact manager, and no maintenance staff on call. Proximity to freeway eliminated sleeping with open window option, nor was sleeping with dripping AC unit. The management response was unacceptable; we checked out and will not return. Run away from this hotel.
This is a good overnight stay if you're doing other stuff. It's not somewhere you would want to spend an evening in as it's just really a sleeping place. But it's clean, the accessible room was very good. There was laundry facilities which I found helpful. The grab and go bag for breakfast wasn't great I have to say. But we got a good recommendation to get good pizza to bring back to the room as we were too tired to go out one night. The staff were friendly. Car park is pretty small if you need to access the hotel easily with luggage and have mobility issues, but there are spaces put aside for premium members which were usually empty, not terribly helpful as all the disabled parking spaces were taken. I thought for the price it wasn't really worth it, as it wasn't a cheap stay.…
The hotel was clean and the front desk friendly and responsive. The room had a funky odor from disinfection. It smelled like they were trying to remove cigarette smoke. The hotel is right next to the freeway and highway so extremely noisey. We booked a suite because I wasn't expecting 4 star hotel stay but got downgraded once we arrived. While the move was to an adequate 2 bed room, it was definitely a let down. I would have preferred to just stay at a 2 bed room at the marriott for the same price as the suite we had booked.
The beds were comfortable and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. Our major concern was the appallingly poor quality of the breakfast. For $190 for one night's stay we'd expected more than a "Grab & Go" brown paper bag containing a bottle of water,a cheap brand of so-called Danish Pastry and a cereal bar.
I'd describe this as a compact motel backed up against the 101 freeway yet walkable to the ocean shore. Because the freeway access is adjacent there is quite a bit of traffic around here. But once across the street, you're in the Pierpont neighborhood, quite funky, and not generally too busy on weekends. My room was OK but, like I say, there's a bit of freeway noise. Not much in the way of bath amenities and housekeeping was just on call. The Denny's across the freeway access offers guests a free breakfast. But it was too bulky for me. I ate there my first morning but skipped it on my second (and last). Something to be aware of is the small parking area. If you have a larger vehicle you'll probably need to make other arrangements. And if you arrive late, you might have to tight squeeze. Shops are around including a supermarket; downtown and al fresco type Covid era dining is about 1.5 miles away, and beach access is down the street a bit. For a walk try Seaward toward the beach or access the bike trail from San Pedro in the state beach area.…
This hotel has paper thin walls. I couldn’t sleep because of the constant loud voices and footsteps that made this experience more like a college dorm. Also hotel is right on fwy so traffic is also part of the noise. I wanted a good sleep halfway on a long drive… I should have just driven. It is also HIGHLY over priced. It’s the Denny’s of hotels. Oh… they throw a breakfast in from there ASCA complimentary meal if you can get through the night! Seriously… this is not a good choice. I knew it was basic but I didn’t think I’d need to recover from choosing it. I woke up to a group of kids and couldn’t sleep until about 1:00 am from the same group. It’s awful
It’s a Comfort Inn, so expected nothing fancy, just an average, clean room, which is just what we got. Read the reviews ahead of time and knew to ask for a room NOT facing the highway at checkin, which the staff accommodated, so no noise issues for my wife and I. The provided breakfast is accomplished via a voucher for the Denny’s next door, which you have to ask for when checking out in the morning. We’re not really big fans of Denny’s in the first place, but we got the voucher just to have breakfast before we hit the road. We ended up passing on Denny’s once we saw it—kinda run down. The crappy Denny’s ended up being a blessing for us as we drove a relatively short distance to the highly-rated (Yelp) Bagelicious Cafe at 2713 E Main St in Ventura (it’s in the REAR, and NOT a storefront facing Main Street). Great family-run place with SUPERB breakfast food! So, no issues with our rather average stay at Comfort Inn Ventura Beach, just ask for a non-highway facing room.…
Will never stay here again. You can hear the freeway from the your hotel room all night. Then when I brought it up to the manager AJ. He was very Arrogant and super rude. He definitely sealed the deal on never been here again.
Second stay at this hotel, first time very good, this time,NOT so good. First the good, booked a jacuzzi suite, big room, great bed fan over bed, nice touch air conditioning worked great. NOW the bad, found uncooked popcorn on floor,so how clean was this room? Now the REALLY bad,Saturday night started the jacuzzi and large black particles started shooting out the jets, completely disgusting.shut it off and since it was late decided to notify staff in the morning, but when I did the desk guy said the knew about the problem! They knew the whole time and never notified me when I booked,NOT a great selling point for the jacuzzi to spew toxic waste. I suggest you find another place to stay in Ventura!
This hotel is pretty much what you'd expect from a Comfort Inn. Its in a great location though. About a block from Buenaventura State Beach and right next to the highway. There were five of us traveling and we had a suite with two bedrooms and a sitting room area. Fit us all perfectly. The wi-fi was horrendous though. Streaming was impossible. It was only good to check email. I was a little disappointed they didn't offer anything for the "free breakfast" that they still advertise having on their websites. Overall, though, would recommend this to others.
