thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the classic updated trailers were great, the location was awesome a short distance to the beach and downtown. the staff was amazing. the fire pits and smores each night was perfect. lots of other things to do.
For awhile now Ive been thinking about living the vanlife, so when this place popped up on my feed, I was like "why not?" I can try it out and see if i like the set up and what not. Im so happy I did, this place is absolutely awesome. I decided to go with trailer #5 Alice & Wonderland it's one of the smaller trailers, but it was perfect for a single person. There was plenty of storage spaces, towels, toiletries, HOT WATER (i was worried about this), kitchen utensils, AC, blankets, heater, pillows and if I needed something, which I didn't you could ask the staff! This paticular trailer had small patio with chairs, tables, patio covering and string lights (lights were off at 10pm). My trailer was is in a circle with 5 other trailers and has a small courtyard with a firepit and loung chairs set up. They have free smores packages for nighttime firepit, hot cider & hot cocoa and in the morning they have complimentary coffee, tea, squeeze your own OJ, cookies and homemade yogurts. The have beach towels, bikes and I think surfboards for use and the beach is literally a 3 minute walk away. They have water in your fridge that is in environmentally friendly glass containers that you just take to the front desk to refill, no plastic landfill bottles. There is also a "chill trailer" filled with books, games, coloring books and other activities. At night the main gate closes for extra security and you need a code to get in. The service and staff were super friendly, helpful and enjoyable to chat with. My only complaint is that there isn't a place like this in Norcal. Hint Hint....…
We truly enjoyed this unique, retro hotel. Everything was excellent from the spotless trailer and grounds to the community firepits, ready to make smore kits, free bicycles, and prime location within walking distance to beach and restaurants. Highly recommend.
Wonderful stay at this very unique location! The vintage trailer was adorable and extremely comfortable. We had the Mansion and it was plenty of room, we were able to really spread out (there were only 2 of us, but we each wanted our own space) The staff were great, we took advantage of the beach towels available and the complimentary orange juice and tea. If we're back in Ventura, we will definitely stay at this fun and unique venue again!
It is all the extra little things that the staff does that earns them five stars. From all the fresh baked snacks and the variety of teas, the bicycles for loan to ride around town, cornhole, s’mores kits to roast around the firepits, to the fresh squeezed OJ, they have thought of it all and do it with style to spare.
all the trailers are remodeled vintage trailers, the staff is great, quite, close to the beach, firepits, games, and a host of small amenities. a nice change of pace. you can even tow your own trailer in to park. I do not know the details on that. they have bike available to ride, the beach trail for cycling is awesome. I brought my own bike though, it was an awesome ride
We loved this place the moment we drove in! Such a great unique place to stay, campers were clean and neat, beds comfortable, the staff was amazing and the grounds impeccable. We will definately be back. We had a great time.
This was our first time staying in an RV park like this and we were very impressed. We had two units for four of us and they were both very nice. Front desk people were very helpful. Great location, too. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.
I just got back from a wedding weekend at the Waypoint and knew I had to jump on here right away and leave a review while everything is fresh in my head. First of all, if you are looking for a unique and fun stay along the coast, don't think twice about staying at the Waypoint. Not only are the renovated trailers just absolutely incredibly redone (while staying true to their original character), but holy cow are the comfy! We rented Aluminaughty (#7) for my two friends (husband and wife) and me. I have to admit: I was a little worried about sleeping on a pull out couch in a renovated trailer, but let me tell you: there was no reason for me to stress. The bed was comfy as all get out, well appointed, and honestly, extremely easy to take out and put away. The hotel complex itself is adorable. While this is labeled as camping, it's. . . not really camping. I'm not a camping girl at all, but never felt like I was roughing it for even a moment this weekend. Every where you turn, there are lovely jugs of lemon and herb water all day, while mornings get you great coffee, pastries, and even a station to make fresh squeezed orange juice. Super yummy! The hotel is right by the beach, plus tons of bars, breweries, and restaurants. You can drive, you can walk, or you can borrow a bike from the property to enjoy. I can't stress enough how this was the absolutely perfect spot for a wedding reception (or any kind of similar event!) . The staff were lovely and accommodating to our (respectful) nonsense and it really was just the perfect place for a big group of friends to get together. I could also see this being a place for a magical family reunion or even corporate retreat! I do want to note one little note for fellow plus sized/ fat travelers reading this and trying to decide whether to stay here: I read all the reviews before our stay and saw a lot of comments about how small the bathrooms are in some of the trailers. As a plus sized lady, I was a bit anxious about this before the trip. Now, I can only speak for Aluminaughty, but the bathroom was definitely small. Don't get me wrong, I could fit into it and do my business if need be, but the quarters were cramped in there to say the least. Even a fit person who was on the taller side might have some trouble making that work. Think economy-class airplane bathroom on a medium-sized plane, for reference. To be clear: this is in NO WAY a negative on the Waypoint; after all, this is the vintage Air Stream of it all! That said, if you're like me and stressing about that, please don't! The hotel itself actually has two bathrooms for the property, up by the front office (and right across from Aluminaughty!) that are HUGE and modern. I'm talking so much space you could choreograph a dance routine in there with several friends. A spacious toilet, sink area to spread out if you want to get ready in there, and a giant shower. This would not only be great for someone a bit larger, but also folks with some mobility issues-- very accessible! I'll be honest: I didn't even use the bathroom in our trailer after the first time-- it was back by the bedroom my friends took and rather than waking them up in the middle of the night to shimmy in there, I just threw on my flip flops and walked across the peaceful courtyard to what we were referring to as "the fancy bathrooms." If you think you may prefer the "fancy bathroom" option being close, I'd suggest calling before booking and getting a list of the trailers that are on that end of the property (though nothing is particularly far, to be clear!).…
What didn’t they think about!?! Everything here was so thought out! From a hot cocoa bar once night time hit to a s’mores kit every night for our kids to make. And mornings , a super cute assortment of loose tea leafs along with homemade simple syrups for your coffee ! There was also little treats in the fridge every morning. We wanted to bbq and the front desk offered us all the tools and we’re so helpful with the grills. Best part of all this was that the staff made me and the kids feel sooo welcome and sometimes with kids I tend to feel guilty if they’re too loud etc.. not here! Will 100 times recommend this place for couples, families, solo trips!
