This vintage trailer "hotel" was a surprise for my daughter for a one-night stay. They have given their place a "vintage vibe" on every level. Their office and gift shop are a repurposed shipping container and a vintage trailer. They have bicycles available for your use. There are corn-hole games, swings and firepits surrounded by Adirondack chairs, with blankets for the evening. It truly is a magical place at night when their outdoor lights are on. Our "hotel room" was The Flamingo, with its own private patio. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The vintage stove is not connected, but fun to look at anyway. Towels, some toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper and bottles of water (already chilled in the frig) were there for our use. There is an electric tea pot, with coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. We had a little trouble locating the park, but finally found it. It is located next to a train track, but we actually didn't hear the train during the night. New construction is going up between the park and the beach, so it now has a bit of a restricted view to the ocean. This is a totally unique experience and I would highly recommend it.

Compared to other vintage trailer parks we've stayed at this is the best! All of the trailers are superbly renovated and maintained! The interior of our Cooperhead felt premium with comfy mattress, nice linens, leather sofa bed, full size shower, high quality beverage fridge, microwave, satellite TV. It's obvious that care and attention were put into the smallest of details. I found no obvious cost cutting measures or jury-rigged repairs. The grounds are somewhat minimal but expertly kept with areas to share time around unique campfire 'balls' and corn hole boards. Each staff member polite and personable. Every type of restaurant you can think of is walking or bike riding distance, including the beach. It's all here! Highly recommend Transmission Brewing, Topside Cafe and Toppers Pizza - all 3 adjacent to each other and less than half mile walk. The occasional train that rolls by even adds to the experience, if you can believe that. (Trains do not run late night, they run from about 8am to 9pm). Squeeze your own OJ in the morning at the concierge lounge. Why stay at a stuffy hotel when a person can enjoy the great outdoors with camp fire, games, BBQ, free bikes, individual patios and on and on. We'll back soon!

For awhile now Ive been thinking about living the vanlife, so when this place popped up on my feed, I was like "why not?" I can try it out and see if i like the set up and what not. Im so happy I did, this place is absolutely awesome.

I decided to go with trailer #5 Alice & Wonderland it's one of the smaller trailers, but it was perfect for a single person. There was plenty of storage spaces, towels, toiletries, HOT WATER (i was worried about this), kitchen utensils, AC, blankets, heater, pillows and if I needed something, which I didn't you could ask the staff! This paticular trailer had small patio with chairs, tables, patio covering and string lights (lights were off at 10pm). My trailer was is in a circle with 5 other trailers and has a small courtyard with a firepit and loung chairs set up. They have free smores packages for nighttime firepit, hot cider & hot cocoa and in the morning they have complimentary coffee, tea, squeeze your own OJ, cookies and homemade yogurts. The have beach towels, bikes and I think surfboards for use and the beach is literally a 3 minute walk away.

They have water in your fridge that is in environmentally friendly glass containers that you just take to the front desk to refill, no plastic landfill bottles.

There is also a "chill trailer" filled with books, games, coloring books and other activities.

At night the main gate closes for extra security and you need a code to get in.

The service and staff were super friendly, helpful and enjoyable to chat with.

My only complaint is that there isn't a place like this in Norcal. Hint Hint....

We truly enjoyed this unique, retro hotel. Everything was excellent from the spotless trailer and grounds to the community firepits, ready to make smore kits, free bicycles, and prime location within walking distance to beach and restaurants. Highly recommend.

First time staying at Waypoint - overall, a fun, neat experience with my pandemic puppy! We stayed at Touch of Grey, which was more spacious than I expected. I would've booked one with a Queen or Full size mattress but they were full. The twin beds are tiny ... even for someone like me (I'm 5').

Pros:
• Friendly staff
• Safe for solo female travelers
• Great coffee & filtered water
• Unique experience
• Location!

That said, I thought the $50 per night fee for my 7 lb puppy bit too steep (most lodgings charge $50 per STAY or have a flat low fee). So I doubt I would stay here again due to cost (also found $200 per night fee bit high, considering there's no kitchen to cook in). Maybe this is the going rate for this location, will have to do some research.

Also, if you're a light sleeper, like myself, know that there's a train that runs nearby around 7:30 AM PDT. The air con and heater are works great but are loud.

Overall a great experience!

They ruined our daughter's ice-cream birthday cake and management's response was far from "making it right" for the guest. Family from surrounding counties came and stayed to celebrate my 6yo's birthday in September, 2020. Two hours before we were supposed to cut the cake, we were informed that the cake had been placed in the fridge the night before and was ruined. It was 11am; we removed ourselves from our guests and scrambled to replace the custom ice-cream cake we had ordered days before. When all was said and done, the front desk told us it was "an honest mistake" and we would only be reimbursed the $65 it cost for the replacement cakes, and not the additional $45 it cost for the cake that was ruined. To top it off, it has been 4 weeks and management still has not bothered to follow up with us after we emailed our feedback to hello@waypointventura. It is one thing to reimburse for a replacement cake, it is another thing to go the extra mile and to "make it right" by your guest/client. Customer service is what separates good businesses from excellent ones, this place has poor customer service.

Memorable stay for our 20th Wedding Anniversary! We spent 2 nights at Waypoint (#4 Navigator) and they are so thoughtful with their special details such as ear plugs, eye masks, nice toiletries, comfy bed, AC, Wi-Fi, TV. etc. The staff is very helpful, and the housekeeping staff were also helpful and attentive!

Waypoint grounds felt very safe, with a locked gate that can only be accessed with a gate code. Great lighting throughout the grounds, yet there’s privacy.
The passing train was not as noisy as I thought it would be and I used the provided earplugs. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire, and the fire pit is turned off promptly at 10.

The location is awesome! We walked to Robely’s for pastries and coffee and another morning to Corrales for breakfast burritos. The beach is a 10 minute walk away via a bridge that goes over the freeway. Great lunch at Eric Ericsson’s on the pier. Short walk to Transmission Brewery rooftop (21 and over only on rooftop) and watch the sunset and enjoy a cold beer. Great service there!!

Wish we had another day to enjoy the bicycles and one more night at Waypoint. We are already planning our next trip!

We found ourselves passing through Ventura during our Airstream's first trip out west, and I was thrilled when I confirmed they had a single RV spot available that night. We loved everything about our stay... Waypoint Ventura has such a cool retro vibe and everything you need for a fun and truly unique experience! Firepits, corn hole boards and a tea/coffee bar - we loved that we could enjoy the amenities of a boutique hotel while staying the comforts of our own RV. The location of this place can't be beat, either... within walking distance to restaurants/breweries and the pier. We walked to the nearby Transmission Brewing for some craft beer (and pizza from the adjacent Toppers Pizza) and then continued our walk to the pier and tried out MadeWest Brewing Company. Highly recommend!

We stayed one night in the “Touch of Grey” with our beloved dog.
Had a blast playing albums in the lovingly restored vintage trailer. The beds were really comfortable and we just marveled at all the special touches..from the quality shampoo provided to the good sheets. It’s an absolute shame that a huge apartment complex was built to block any view. Great location and good vibe. We were extremely impressed by the restored trailers in the park-it’s totally our thing. We shall return.

We were excited to stay here on our way down the coast, we stayed for 2 nights here. We loved "Heads or Tails" our 1973 Boles Aero Trailer, it was one of the pet friendly ones. These have been lovingly restored and we really enjoyed it. The staff on site, so friendly and helpful during our stay. They had coffee in the morning and cider at night (it was the holidays). The location some people will find odd, it's between the highway and the train tracks (not really noisy for us, we were cool with it). We were able to walk to the over to the beach and to the downtown area which was nice. They had 2 firepits each night with make your own s'mores. Fun! The only minor thing is that next to the park they are building apartments which now blocks their view of the ocean. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again for sure, it's a unique hotel option and that's what makes it appealing. A cool experience.
