my son & his family lives in Ventura we come down to visit them regularly . we always stayed at the pierpoint. The last 2 trips were terrible experiences. we checked in she didn't have the room that we requested shw anted us to have a room under ground which we stayed at te time before & hadf to move because of my asthma it smelled of old rotten something. The staff is rude we ended up in room 516 which looked like we were back in the stone age. TV didn't work no place to hang a towel by the sink no place to put a toothbrush. we were there for 3 nights the last night my husband got fed up & requested to be moved to a better room. they charged us $25 moving fee. I will never go back there spend my money on a dump.

One of the reasons I selected this location was that the check in time through Agoda on Tripadvisor was 3pm which was earlier than most. I was hoping to get an earlier check in time on top of that. When I called to ask about it I was told check in was 4pm and the only way to *maybe* check in early would be to call the day of and see if the room was ready or switch to the underground rooms. I didn't like the sound of being underground so I said just leave it we will come at 4pm. At 4 the room was still not ready, 15 mins later we got the key and low and behold it was for the "underground room". No elevators and the hallway was creepy. The room was clean, beds comfortable. For being underground and adjacent to the freeway the noise was low except for the paper thin walls that allowed us to hear the room next door talking as if we were in the same room. The pool was across the property but nice and warm however NO JACUZZI?! Staff was nice and housekeeping was accommodating when we needed extra bedding and utensils. I appreciate that. From the pictures and price we expected much more from this place. Definitely a disappointment. You also get charged $100 for incidentals that they refund you but that's some low budget garbage.

This past weekend a few friends and I went to Ventura and we booked a few rooms at the Pierpont Inn. On Saturday at noon (4 hours before check-in) they called me and cancelled my reservation. I was given multiple reasons, but it would seem they overbooked and decided to give preference to the booking services rather than a customer who booked through their website and confirmed the reservation 5 days prior. They did absolutely nothing to help or compensate me. They even told me they were doing Me a favor by not charging me the cancellation fee. I followed up with an email and they have not responded. They are the worst operation I have ever dealt with. Additionally, I did visit my friends who got to keep their rooms and the place is a total dump. In the end I think the Motel 6 I ended up staying in was much nicer.

Booked one of their cottages 3 weeks ago for our 5 year anniversary. I got a call the day before we were suppose to check in stating our room was no longer available. The woman on the phone could not have been less customer service oriented. When I demanded an explanation as to how this happened she put me on hold and then came back to say they were having electrical issues. It sounded like a complete BS excuse and I was astounded by the lack of consideration or care by the hotel staff. This place is a joke and I am thankful we didn’t end up staying here, even if it was a major inconvenience for our plans.

We were there for 7 nights with friends, 8 rooms total. Our room was decent, our friends had trouble with theirs. One was locked out of their room twice because the key reader did not work. One opened their window, but then it wouldn't shut. The air conditioner didn't work in 2 rooms when we arrived. One was fixed, but it dripped -- they put their trash can under it and it was half full every morning. The other room didn't get their a/c fixed, and they were told to find another hotel when they asked to change rooms! Although our room was decent, we were double charged. A payment posted at the end of our stay, but when we got home there was another full payment PLUS $164.20 added to it! When we called to have this corrected, a manager was not available but they would call me back. They still have not called, but the "extra" $164.20 was refunded to our account. I called back to get the original payment of $655 refunded, but they claim they have no record of it and argued with me that our account is correct. Asked for the manager again, but there's not one on site and it will be 4 days before they will be in! I was told they would forward this to their accounting department, but they also will not be in for 4 days! I was told I would receive an email with a report of our charges/payments, and no email. Do as the front desk told our friends... FIND ANOTHER HOTEL.
