We stayed for 1 night and can’t recommend enough - our room was on the front so was concerned about noise, but didn’t hear anything! Super comfy bed, clean throughout…like some other reviews have said, not the ritz, but we didn’t want the ritz and had a great stay.
Ventura was all booked up so was pleased to get a room with decent reviews. We were given, I think, the last room to be rented which was above the office. It was a large room and OK, but nothing like the photos. Without asking, Neil, who was very nice, cut the price for me. An iron was provided with no ironing board but worst of all there was no wardrobe so I couldn't hang my clothes. I queried this at reception but was told this was 'normal'. There is no breakfast. I was glad I wasn't on my own as I'd not have felt safe in this neighbourhood.
Don’t let the nice pictures of certain rooms sway you. This place isn’t very good. Furniture was run down and torn. The pots and pans in the kitchen were atrocious. The toilet ran. Would have given it a one star but the manager was nice and gave us what turned out to be a good recommendation for a Thai restaurant nearby.
We stayed here over night for a brief stay and were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and quiet and an excellent price for the hotel. Don't expect the Ritz, but fit our needs for the brief stay. Neil, the attendant at the front desk, was AWESOME. He was friendly, professional and very helpful. It was nice to have a smiling helpful person when we arrived later than expected. Our check in and check out were both very easy. Can't say enough about Neil. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would stay here again when in the area.
Room was meticulously clean to the smallest details. Neil the hotel manager was very nice and accommodating. The suite included a full sized refrigerator and nicely equipped kitchenette. Bathroom was spotless. Overall a great value and experience!
I can't say enough about the customer service at this hotel. When I was calling around to hotels in the area (there are lots to chose from), Jack really sold me with his friendliness and knowledge of the area - the bike path to Ojai and Carpenteria is super close as is the beach. He answered my questions with honesty, got us in first floor rooms bc we have bikes, and also rooms next to each other as we are traveling as a group. He was easy going and not in a rush and accommodating as a person can be. We have another trip planned here in a few weeks. So easy to get to from LA.
We got a room with 2 double beds which took up almost the entire room. The refrigerator, microwave (with outlets!), shower all appeared to be updated recently. There was a nice ceiling fan and the beds were comfortable. We did not hear much road noise but the guests in the parking lot sometimes were too loud.
Stayed in the back so I didn't hear any street noise. Room had two double beds and so there was very little room to move around. Bathroom was updated but carpet seemed dirty. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Very good internet.
We chose this hotel because of all the good comments and it was a big mistake. We got a room downstairs, the room was tiny and dirty. There was tomato sauce in the bed cover and the sheets were not comfortable at all. There fridge, microwave and coffee pod were disgusting and clearly not cleaned for a while. A lot of the appliances in the bedroom and bathroom were rusted. When we came back for the second night, the cleaning lady didn’t clean our room and was still cleaning other rooms at 6 pm! The wifi didn’t work well, it was super slow. We chose a room at the back as people suggested in the comments and it was super noisy as well. Other clients were shouting in the parking lot late at night and early in the morning. The sound resonates in the parking and it makes it louder. The only positive thing I can say is that the owners are very nice and welcoming. …
Room was fine, and desk staff was nice enough but parking is horrible, the back of the building was horrid, and the neighborhood was most definitely questionable. The door locks were primitive and there were no locks on the windows. A little scary overall.
