My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Roosevelt. The hotel is beautiful, elegant and very traditional. The front desk assistants were very polite and courteous. The bar at the lobby is great, and the lobby itself is beautiful. We stayed in a very nice corner suite with gorgeous views of the city. The room was large and...

Stayed at this hotel for a friends daughters wedding. The reception was beautiful however the rooms were lacking, slow drain in tub left you standing in 5-6 inches of water, no coffee pot in room, room service not available at this time, and overall just kind of shabby for the price. The other room we had for our adult children...

Competitive price in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Quiet hotel with lounge in lobby and on rooftop. Walking distance to Times Sq., Rockefeller Plaza and Grand Central Terminal; not to mention the plethora of stores along Fifth and Madison Avenues.

I ended up staying here after selecting it on a "secret sale". I was expecting the worst after reading some reviews here. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. We got a room with two double beds. The room was larger than most in Manhattan, the bathroom was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable (and my back is very...

We only stayed here one night in September at the end of a cruise, arrived at 1pm, was told I could pre-check in and come back after 3 to get into the room, so we stored our luggage and went off exploring, came back and got the room key easily enough. Hotel is in a great location, walkable to Times...

If your room is in the lobby you will be great, if not you are screwed. This hotel is a piece of crap. The rooms are small rundown and just look and feel like an old prostitute. Our room also smelled like mothballs covered in baby food and it was old and dirty. The staff wasn't friendly either--especially the manager...

Great old Hotel with great service. Room was small but who wants to be in the room in New York. The Rooftop bar was great. the location was very convenient. The food was great, the room was quiet, easy to find, the gym was adequate with fresh fruit every morning. I would for sure stay at this hotel next time...

You must visit again when MAD46th re-opens in the spring. Thanks again for your valuable feedback and we look forward to your next visit.

I first went to the Roosevelt Hotel in 2007 and at the time, I thought it was ok - it had that Art Deco/Faded spendor thing going on but in the intervening 6 years it doesn't seem to have improved remotely. We arrived for a 6 night stay feeling pretty travel weary. It was a very important holiday for my...

The Roosevelt is one of the old great hotels of New York City with an affordable price-level. Situated right in the heart of Manhattan, close to the Grand Central Station and Times Square, it is a great situation for exploring Manhattan. Needed to stay in NYC one short night for business. Save your money - this isn't it. I know you can do better....really. Try. The walls are paper thin, the place is PACKED during the week of the UN visits....and any other big political event....the bar is great but seriously, you can do better. The check in staff were overworked,...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
