Just back from staying at this hotel. Great location. Just 2mins away from Macy's store. Room was spotless but not exactly what you would call a room with a view. Terrible view. Looking out into a lot of back walls. Stayed on 10th floor room no. 1008. Roof top terrace made up for it as you are looking directly onto...

Arrived at Newark airport in the early hrs and a cab ride took about 25 min ($65 + tolls and tip). Check in was pleasant and efficient. We had a family room which was large, clean and comfortable. We were fortunate to have a room at the front of the hotel with a view of the empire state building.(Down side-we...

Where do I start? As mentioned in previous reviews the hotel is in a wonderful location and is spotlessly clean. However, I found the staff unfriendly. Yes, they were extremely friendly when you spoke to them, but when you entered the lobby they did not initiate a conversation- I did expect a "hello", or "how are you". For me, interaction...

My wife and I booked the hotel based on all the positive reviews we had seen and the fact that a Virgin rep had told us many people choose to stay here time and time again when visiting New York. We can understand why. First day we arrived we walked round the corner to The ESB and on a clear...

I have stayed at the Metro many times over the last 15 years and have also recommended it to many friends and colleagues. I have just returned from another visit, this time accompanied by my son and his girlfriend (it was her first visit to NYC). We had a wonderful time! Without exception the staff were polite and helpful. Matthew...

Stayed here in april 2013 as a family of 3 in a contemporary double double. Decor a little bit dated but all spotlessly clean, very comfy beds, pillows etc and decent shower (but no bath). Big room - plenty of floor space for NYC. Brilliant location, steps away from the Herald Square Subway and on a quiet street so not...

We (young couple) stayed here in late March 2013 for 4 nights. We arrived at our room and we had 3 double beds in our room, a family suite I think! It was on the fourth floor, but because its not on a main avenue its nice and quiet anyway and we weren't woken up by the noise outdoors. The...

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights from 28 March and cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are all extremely polite and helpful and you certainly cannot beat the location. Just one block from the Empire State and within walking distance of most of the main attractions. We stayed in a contmeporary double double and were very pleased with...

We were schedule to stay in another hotel in NYC. Although Travelocity had tried to reach us for a while, my e-mail had been hacked and I had changed it months after making my travel plans. They finally got a hold of us by phone days before we were leaving for NYC to tell us our newly constructed hotel had...

We stayed for 5 nights over Easter. The location is excellent. Just near Empire State, Macy's at Herald square and next to a metro station. Breakfast is complimentary and more than adequate to set you off on a day of sight seeing. Coffee and tea are available all day and the adjoining bar/grill has a happy hour M-F around 5pm...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
