Hotel Metro is a fantastic hotel in the centre of the city. It is one block from the Empire State and 5th avenue, with tube links at the top of the road to elsewhere in the city. Not only are the rooms spacious and quaint, but the hotel itself offers some great perks like free breakfast, wifi and wine tasting...

We have been staying in Metro Hotel as part of the deal we bought from British Airways including the flight. It was a very special trip for us as we were getting married in NYC during a stay. Hotel is kind of retro style hotel with touch on 20, 30 ties movies. I like everything about this place, fantastic location...

We needed somewhere central to stay in NYC and this place didn't disappoint. Basically on 5th Avenue, it was close to EVERYTHING. Breakfast was good (although, massive chocolate muffins for breakfast is a bit weird for a Brit!) and the room was exactly what you'd expect. That, along with the very reasonable price means we'd happily stay here again!

We stayed at the Metro for 6 nights in early December. As regular visitors to NYC, we are very much accustomed to the hustle and bustle of the transfers and traffic in the city. Following a very lengthy transfer from JFK due to unusual amounts of traffic at that time, we arrived at the hotel and the moment we walked...

After a flight from the UK the check in was quick and efficient. The room was clean and tidy, however the decor was is in need of updating, but when you go 3 nights in NYC who is going to stay in the room all day and night. The tea and coffee facilities (24/7) are located just off the main...

What a fantastic place to stay. From the moment you walk through the door, the staff make you feel so welcome. We arrived early so our room wasn't quite ready but the girls at the check in desk took our details and the young man took and stored our luggage. We were then invited to have a coffee in the...

Housekeeping was good Buffet breakfast was included, a bit of a scrummage and limited seating. Good range of items but plastic cutlery Linked Bar/restaurant next...

The Metro hotel is so central, turn right and Macy's is at the bottom!! Turn Left and at the end of the street is 5th Avenue! Your are literally 2 minutes (depending on how fast you walk) from Empire State Building. The room was a queen, which is small however you are in New York. The room was cleaned everyday...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
