Lovely period hotel, ideally situated in midtown Manhattan. On W 35th Street between Ave of the Americas/Broadway and 7th Avenue, with the Herald Sq/34th Street subway station only a minute's walk away. Great feel to the hotel with a feel of old NYC glitz and glamour. Our room was fine - good size, plenty of room, shower only - no...

We stayed at Hotel Metro last week. As we had a reservation at another hotel, and the experience had been horrible, we arrived at the Hotel Metro in the middle of the night by chance. We were greeted warmly by Eugenia, who really took care of us and made us feel welcome. So much kindness from her! All the staff...

We had a fantastic honeymoon, from the limo that brought us to the hotel, to the lovely room which was upgraded free of charge. Thank you to the staff for the bottle of champagne in our room. We look forward to staying again :)

We have stayed in lots of hotels, but this was amazing. Great friendly, helpful staff. Business center with printer we could use for free one level up (they just give you a key card, can use for 30mins). Roof top bar (closed in winter) with great views of ESB and Macy's. Also had a gym. Good breakfast room, although not...

Stayed here last week for 4 nights, on arrival we was told we had been upgraded to a penthouse room, this was such a lovely surprise! The room was a really good size and very very clean, the bed was huge and was the best bed I have ever had in a hotel room. We slept so well and never...

Spent three nights here and I would diffidently chose this hotel again. Hotel is smack bang in midtown and just around the corner from the empire state building. Subway stops close by at each end of the street. The rooms are on the small side but are comfortable with all mod cons. Staff very helpful and we were always greeted...

We stayed as a couple at the Hotel Metro for three Nights. We had a Premier Queen Room on the 8th floor. This hotel is styled from the 50's era, perhaps even older, the old posters of films and the swing style music help set the tone of the hotel. Natalia was very friendly at check in and although we...

Trip started badly as we lost our IPad enroute from the UK. Natalia on reception was only too ready help and located it for us at JFK! We had a premier queen room on the top floor with a comfortable bed. Shower was powerful and hot although drawer space was a little limited. House keeping was very good and continental...

Hotel is very average. Complimentary breakfast was ok. Next door pub did a lovely breakfast at discounted rate. Hotel was clean. Reception staff were not very friendly. The gentleman that was arranging a taxi to the airport said he couldn't get a taxi outside but he let two taxi's go but when i went out he suddenly got a taxi....

We had just been in Brazil for a 10 day trip with two good friends and we were stopping over in New York for a weekend of shopping and coming back to reality. The hotel is located perfectly for those want to walk around the downtown area. We were minutes from Times Square, Chrysler building and Empire State. Just off...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
