Set in the NoMad neighborhood, formerly historic Tin Pan Alley - the city's Jazz Age music epicenter – the hotel features a recently enhanced lobby experience and three exceptional dining concepts by Chef Jonathan Benno. Feel at home in beautifully remodeled accommodations with luxurious comforts like Frette linens, bath amenities by Five Wits and bathrooms with heated floors and custom vanities with marble sinks. Ahhhh so good to be back in nyc! A $$38 round trip Amtrak ticket got me there, and I decided to switch things up and try a different hotel - the Evelyn! I arrived on Thursday and it was pleasantly quiet. I was put into room 210 and it was so cozy!! Big bed, a desk, bathroom. As a solo traveler it was just enough space. My favorite part was the flower basket and lights outside my window. First time ever in nyc!! Later I learned that there was a mini bar in the room in the closet. Investigated and mine was completely empty. Bummer! I would’ve totally partaked! Additionally, somehow the phone was working. Turns out the hotel just opened up the 2nd floor so I’ll give them a pass on the flubs. Being on the second floor you can avoid the elevator and get down to the free breakfast. I had no idea they offered it! Coffee or tea and a choice of granola, oatmeal or a breakfast sandwich. Room service was advertised but only it was next to impossible to reach. The room phone didn’t work so I called to the front desk. Transferring my call didn’t work so they had to give a worker my cell number so they could call me. All I wanted was some eggs but as luck would have it breakfast stopped at 11am. Grrrr. Lunch was ok but not great. ☹️ Location is great and Madison park is my fav. Lots of restaurant options around the hotel and long but easy walk to the high line. I’ll be back sooner than later. The restaurant Leonilli was eh….. it was great to roll back to the hotel at 10:45pm and see the bar open. Only the bartender was sort of rude. Oh well. I’ll chalk it up to it being busy. Thanks to Angel the doorman to tolerate my antics and explain the situation with blithe room phone amd empty minibar. 🙏

The experience was terrific from check-in to check-out.. De'Marcus greeted me at check in and was very accommodating. He explained all the amenities, and was even kind enough to add a small gift to make the evening for my wife and me ever the more pleasant. De'Marcus truly cares about the customers having the best experience possible. While not large, the room had everything one needs and was especially quiet for Manhattan during the evening. I would certainly recommend The Evelyn to anyone seeking a quality experience at a reasonable price. David

David, Wow! I'm humbled by your very encouraging and thoughtful words. It was my pleasure have been able to make you and your wife feel so welcome. With so much chaos happening around the country, a little kindness and hospitality could make all the difference and I'm glad you had a wonderful time. We welcome you back any time my friend. Be safe, and be well. -De'Marcus

This hotel has a good location in the Nomad area of Manhattan. You can walk everywhere and anywhere. So this is a big plus! The hotel itself, the rooms are very small. So being two people in the upgraded queen rooms is pushing it. In addition the AC is manual (not central) so there is a constant noise. Since we came in May, it was fine because we could have it turned off. But it was so noisy, we would have not been able to sleep with that on in the room. Something to consider if you are a light sleeper. Also the breakfast included, is just coffee / tea and a baked good or yogurt. So not sure if you could call it a full breakfast, more a snack. But good way to get coffee in the morning! Overall, this hotel - the price point being lower, you can get a good deal if you don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel with a good location in Manhattan.

For all the hotels I've stayed in, in the past, this one has been my favorite. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are nice, especially for an extended stay like mine (stayed there for two weeks while in the process of moving to NY). Can't beat the location either! A special shout out to De'Marcus, and the rest of the staff here, they were wonderful & always helpful!!!
