Was working in the area, and just needed somewhere to sleep. The atmosphere and service allowed me to do everything I needed to do efficiently. Hope to return when time permits me to better enjoy everything they have to offer.

Amazing location on 5th avenue, literally walking distance from everything if you are a keen tourist. Rooms are very clean and reasonably sized for New York. No room service however, you are in the middle of everything and everything close by seems to be 24 hours service.

The room and bathroom were very clean and this was an excellent location for us in relation to restaurants and bars we wanted to go to, and we learned that we love Flatiron! The bathroom was exceptionally clean and neat, but tight. The room was extremely small & cramped- difficult for even a cozy couple to navigate getting dressed. The...

Hotel rooms are lovely and clean; and hotel is in great location. We had a room with 2 beds, which took up pretty much the whole room, so there was not a lot of space for baggage or sitting anything out on counters. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Only issue of note was cramped rooms which we were able...

Really nice find, great location and while the room was small it had everything you need. Even an iron & ironing board and an enormous bed! Lovely products, linens and good shower. Bathroom compact but as a solo traveller it was fine. Free coffees and pastries in the lobby each morning.

We picked the Evelyn because the website suggested that it would provide passes to a gym next door. The website makes it sound like the passes are complimentary because the gym is listed under "amenities." Turns out that you have to pay $20 per pass - not a deal at all. We were very frustrated.

I work nearby and needed a place to stay over one night. As a NYer I can be jaded. Loved the hotel, the room, and the service. Highly recommend. The room was clean, spacious, and had a fun theme. It's a great area, as well.

The room I stay in was kinda small. Didn't have a dresser. But that didn't stop how happy I was to be there. Was very comfortable. Quiet. Room was nicely decorated and organized. The shower was the best part. Very nice.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Evelyn formerly The Gershwin Hotel is now offering newly residential inspired rooms with references to an Art Nouveau Style. Our NoMad hotel is inspired by the musical and art heritage of the neighborhood, which was the epicenter of the popular music industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The music theme is reflected throughout the rooms, corridors and bathrooms. The NoMad District (now also known as "NoMad" - North of Madison Square Park) is now one of Manhattan's most popular neighborhoods, characterized by its beautiful and historic architecture, exceptional bars and restaurants tucked away on quiet side streets, and many other attractions. Centered around Madison Square Park, the NoMad District is within walking distance of Midtown, Union Square, Greenwich Village, and NYU. ... more   less
