This hotel is so perfectly situated for sightseeing and restaurants. We were very close to Bryant Park and Radio City Music Hall. Times Square is a half block away and the bus station is two blocks away. The staff was exceptional, especially Franky, who made our stay so much fun. He was so bubbly, so happy and genuinely wanted to be sure our stay was great. The hotel is clean and everyone was very pleasant. We will be back, for sure.
I've stayed at this hotel for 10+ years when visiting NY City. The location is fabulous, with a gourmet market next door and plenty of fast-arriving ride-hail cars. What really makes the hotel so special are the front-desk staff. They always recognize me, and take care of any requests promptly. These very nice people are like family, and the fact that it's the same staffing year after year tells me hotel management takes good care of its staff and they are happy to work there. Hopefully, new visitors to the hotel will meet Stanley at the front desk - he is king of good service. He really knows his guests and takes care of them as he would his family. A truly remarkable and wonderful person. My favorite room in the hotel is the corner king with queen bed sleeper couch. The room is large for a NY City hotel, and the views of the city life are always entertaining. The windows open, too. Convenient microwave and mini-fridge in the room. Housekeeping staff is cheerful and greets everybody. The hotel is not large by NY standards, but has a comfortable feel to it by not being too big. I'm glad the hotel has finally reopened after the pandemic caused so many hotel closures . Some changes have been made with room amenities, but this is common now throughout the Hilton chain due to the pandemic. If you really need a pen and note paper, for instance, bring your own - you won't find them in the room currently. My room definitely needed another lamp, which was eventually delivered when I requested it. There is one bar of soap for both shower and sink, not the usual two bars per room. The few items I needed in the room, such as extra towels, were brought by housekeeping upon request. The hotel is still a bit short on staff as the pandemic continues, so patience is good to have when requesting things. The hotel is being gently loved to death by its loyal customers, and I hope it will enjoy a renovation in the future. However, it's clean, all the basics are there, and the slightly dated furnishings and dark colors are a minor detail. The fabulous staff more than makes up for how the hotel interior appears now. I always feel protected at this hotel - the lobby bell staff and desk staff know their customers and make sure they are well looked after and safe, especially if one is traveling alone and going out for an event. I feel like a princess when I stay here!…
Positives first! The room was a good size (apart from the bathroom) 2 large comfortable beds, housekeeping was daily and the room although could do with a revamp was clean. Location was great, just behind Times Square, close to Broadway & around 20/30 mins walk to main attractions. Food grocery store next door that sold a good variety of foods/drinks and prices cheaper than hotel. Now here goes the negatives! The rooms have such thin walls you can here every conversation from the next door room down to the flushing of the toilet! You can every door close so if you do want an early night/late morning start you have no chance as there is always a door slamming shut! There is also a lot of building work going on around hotel, we were on 2nd floor and when curtains were open workers were constantly passing the window! There was also a very loud humming/vibration from the generator outside the window. The manager tried to say no one has ever mentioned it before! I doubt that very much! Luckily ear plugs did block that out! The one night there were guests arguing and shouting outside their room (which again the thin walls you could here every noise) and the hotel didn’t nothing! It went on for a good hour or so!…
We are staying 4 nights (on day 2). No lock on safe in closet, refrigerator does not work, only one outlet on nightstand works, in room phones do not work, stains, sticky sheets, the window does not lock and scaffolding is right outside our window. Loud street. No digital key access (if that matters to you which we prefer for ease of us to access our room without keeping track of a room key). Requested additional towels and a toothbrush. Was told by the hotel staff in the mini store that no free toothbrushes were available so we bought one, but then a free toothbrush and the towels showed up 2 hours later. Stay at the Hampton near by or other Hilton property until they rennovate!
When we booked the hotel, one of the attractive features was the pictures of the hotel bar. Unfortunately, the bar was closed for our stay. Apparently the hotel had just opened after a lengthy Covid closure and they did not have the staff to open the bar. This was never posted on the hotel website. There was also another issue upon checking in. We were offered an “upgrade” to a corner room for an additional $20.00. We had booked 2 standard king rooms, and gladly took the offer for the upgrade. Unfortunately for us, the rooms were queens and not kings as we had booked. A bright side was Robert from the concierge desk. He was absolutely awesome! He made our stay for sure.
Room nice but noisy . Don’t stay until building next door is demolished completely and scaffolding on actual hotel down … Location good tho and I guess you don’t spend much time in your room No restaurant as such just a snack type bar .
No dining in hotel Only paper cups in room and 2 small bottles of water for 4 days Scaffolding outside and still had to pay too money plaster loose around window Safe broke in room no key and did not have spare
We stayed here from the 23th of october untill the 29th of october and it was just great. We had some problems with our Visa creditcard but the manager came with a solution and was very helpful and understanding. The room was clean and big enough for four persons and the bed was great. The breakfast could have some improvement because at other Hilton hotels they serve a breakfast buffet and here you must order. The thing we most like was the porter of the hotel during the evenings because he makes a real show when we enter the hotel. Besides that, the hotel is located near Times Square and there are subways nearby.
We stayed here in September. The location to Time Squares and Broadway was great. There was a market close by which was handy. The staff were always great, including front desk staff, security and housekeeping. The beds were really comfortable. The rooms were worn down and when we were there, scaffolding was on a lot of not most of the building. Our window looked out onto scaffolding and in the day the workers working on the next building. It make the room pretty dark and you didn’t want to open the curtains too far! We didn’t hear noise from the street below or other rooms. I’d stay here again although I may look at some other locations first.
We stayed here in Oct 2022 and had a hard time finding our Uber the first few rides until we finally figured that out. Used Knickerbocker address next door instead. Nice hotel and accommodations otherwise. Staff helpful and room clean.
