The location of this hotel is perfect - you're close enough to Central Park, Times Square, 5th Avenue etc. Easy to get food from around the hotel - easy to get wherever you want to go - however, the hotel is not that clean, in bad need of updating, rooms very small - struggling to think of something positive to...

We arrived in New York on stand-by flights with nothing booked. We managed to reserve a room online at the Wellington and we took a taxi from the airport. After a long flight we were very tired and the wait at reception for our room keys was about 20 minutes!! The manager was apologetic about our wait and he gave...

The Wellington Hotel on 7th and 55th is in an excellent location for all sightseeing in NYC. There is a subway station right across the road and you can get practically everywhere in the city from there. Upon arrival we were checked in straight away by the helpful reception staff and showed straight to our room (2038) by the staff....

I stayed for a week at the Wellington while in town on business. The staff at all times were extremely friendly and were very accomodating. The toiletries in the bathroom were very nice but there was never conditioner, only shampoo and lotion. The room was very outdated, old carpeting and decor. The desk, where I did work many nights, was...

Unfortunately, I was dissapointed for the money. The floor appeared bowed. The wall paper was dilapidated and appeared stapled at the seam. The air conditioner was an antiquated window unit, but, while dirty and aged, it worked! The furniture was chipped, scraped and marred, exposing bare wood. And I had to turn around, squat down, and back in, to the...

As most everyone mentioned, the location is excellent! Since I was alone, I particularly liked having everything literally steps away. Metro is also close. I have traveled extensively and visited New York before and selected the Wellington because of its price and location vs. atmosphere and luxurious accommodations. I was in NY to visit a family member but also want...

Location, Location, Location, not like other misleading hotels on an industrial estate or airport car park this really is here, 5 mins walk to Times Square one way and Central Park the other with many subways and other bits nearby, so if you want Manhattan day and night you are in the right place, however the hotel needs to sharpen...

This is my first time at the Wellington. The staff were all friendly and when I requested early check-in, they said no problem. Business associates of mine staying at the Hilton, with higher priced rooms were not allowed to check in early. The rooms are small, okay so this is New York. It was old but that means it was...

We selected the Wellington Hotel on 7th Ave near 55th Street because of its location ... within walking distance to Central Park, Lincoln Center, Broadway Theaters, Radio City Music Hall, many fine restaurants, St Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Ave shopping .... AND... most of the subway lines. We asked for a 'quite' room on one of the upper level...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
