Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in September, great hotel, great location and staff really helpful and went out of their way to help us. We stayed in a twin room on the 10th floor, the towels were changed daily. Could do with upgrading decor but for a visit to NYC it is very adequate and clean. The Bellman...

OK it might not be 5 star but it serves the purpose of staying in NYC as a tourist. It's a great base hotel walking distance from Central Park, Radio City, The Plaza, Times Square, Rockefella Centre and lots more. Molyvos restaurant next door is great as is the Cafe on the street level of the hotel where they had...

When we arrived in the hotel, the lobby looked pretty nice. Once you're in the elevator you notice that the maintenance is very bad. Paint is not maintained, wood is damaged and everything looks old. The room we got initially (1842) was extremely small and dirty. The air conditioning was rusty and stains were still in the bathroom. We asked...

Remember Hurricane Irene? - shut down the New York subway and caused an evacuation of part of New York? Well on the Sunday night of the storm I was due to arrive in New York by train and my 17 year old son was supposed to arrive by plane from Central America travelling alone. I heard my train had been...

An Earthquake and a hurricane in the same week!! Not many can say that after staying at the Wellington Hotel New York - late August 2011. The location of the hotel is perfect - Times Square 10mins in one direction and Central Park 5min in the other. Yes the hotel is old fashioned in appearnace and the lifts very small...

Great location next to Times Square. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. The rooms are a little old and could do with a refurb but the price is good for New York. Although you won't spend too much time inside as New York is hive of activity. The hotel is within walking distance to the buzz of Times...

The location of this hotel could not be better - minutes from Times Square and Central Park, in a busy and lively area. The hotel is clean, but a little shabby, but if you interpret this as part the NYC charm and diversity (as opposed to the sterile perfection of many expensive chain hotels), the paint that's peeling off in...

We stayed at the Wellington for 8 nights, in what was obviously a renovated room . The bathroom was small but modern and we had 2 TVs. We stayed in one of the double rooms with a bedroom and a living room where our two teenagers slept. One on the fold out lounge and the other in a fold out...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
