We booked the Lucerne wanting a hotel walkable from the Metropolitan Opera House. This fitted the bill perfectly. Our room was on the 7th floor, relatively away from the ever-present NY street noise. One night we did get some noise from a boisterous family next door through the room, but the hotel were very helpful about it and confirmed they...

We love this place! Great location. Very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. A concierge on site is helpful and friendly. This is a great size hotel -- a real gem on the UWS that welcomes us with warmth and charm!

We stayed a week in April and the hotel was a decent standard, the staff friendly and helpful and the location good. What let it down was that windows of our room were filfthy and didn't shut very well, meaning earplugs were required at night as New York streets are very noisy. Also there was a large gap under the...

but not my favorite on the UWS.. The Lucerne is a little dated..though rooms ok small lobby attached to Nice Matin restaurant.. Great location for attraction access to UWS Central Park, Museum of Natl History, etc.. The first room they gave us was dark and reminiscent of my poor working student days in NYC When I checked if there was...

This is a nice small hotel on the Upper West Side. The lobby is very comfortable. I didn't want to stand up after sitting in the oh-so-comfortable couch after a long day walking around the city. Check in time is late, 4:00 p.m., which is inconvenient. The front desk clerk was not friendly or welcoming. When I asked for her...

We always stay at the Lucerne when we come to NYC. When you can find a hotel anywhere that is clean, well located and has Friendly Helpful staff such as Ross and others you have to stay with it. The lobby, rooms and related amenities are all presented with understated style/elegance for a hotel of this class and location.

We loved this hotel - it is old, but very clean. It has been updated and I feel that it is very classy, in an old fashioned sense. The staff was very friendly, including the doormen, who helped us up and down the stairs with our baby's stroller. They always held the door, helped us with our luggage, of course,...

I stay in this neighborhood all the time - great restaurants, close to the subway, the park and everything else I need. This was my first time at The Lucerne and the place was a winner. Spacious room, very attentive staff and Nice Matin (one of my favorite restaurants) right off the lobby. I asked about opening the window and...

We went to NYC for medical testing at Columbia University Medical Center. The hotel gave us a medical rate and a refrigerator to store necessary things for medical needs. Prior to our visit, we had questions regarding the hotel and the area. Every time we called the staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped make our stay pleasant. We...

This is a perfect place to stay if you have activities planned around the Upper West Side. We traveled into the city by train so took a taxi from Grand Central to 79th street which cost about $17. We were early and the hotel graciously stored our bags so we wouldn't be laden down with our suitcases while we looked...
