For the price, it was a great way for me to make a quick business visit to NYC. Wonderful location. Walk to CP, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, Starbucks. Great West Side atmosphere. It's NOT a hotel, it's more like a dorm. Wear flip flops in the bathroom - they are cleaned daily but quickly get used. There are about 6...

Just returned from a two night stay. The location is great, which is the only thing this hotel has going for it. I have previously stayed on the LES for closer to $150 a night but decided to give this a shot. The YMCA doesn’t even make it to the level of “student hostel” style accommodations. The room was tiny,...

Rooms were terrible. Beds are the worst I have ever slept. Rooms and bathrooms were not clean. Air conditioning was installed so bad that lots of rain get into room. Internet was only accessible at ground flor of hotel. Only the location of hotel was good. It is very close to Central Park I advise everybody to pay little more...

Stay on the 12th or 13th floors. The rooms are renovated and there are a bunch of private baths on each floor. I somehow, thankfully, got upgraded to a room with a park view for the base price... And then had a more expensive room on the same floor that was quite a bit shabbier (no lamp, ancient air conditioner,...

This place has a greater location between Lincoln Center and Central Park East. I stay many times with friends (5-6) shearing a room with three bunk beds and shared bathroom (in the mornings you have to wait) for $25.00 per night/person, not bad. The double rooms are small, only for sleep and put your stuff. The area is steps to...

I was thrilled when I booked this room for such a great price. The location was nearly perfect & I wasn't looking for a fancy room. I just wanted someplace where I could throw my stuff & occasionally sleep. I was traveling alone and came back late one evening. Up until this point my experience was fine. I had lost...

I loved staying at the Y because of the cheap price, but it was even better that it was steps from Central Park and the many places a visitor would want to check out. It was near Columbus Circle where there is a Whole Foods. There just happened to be the closing of the Borders store there with many wonderful...

Three of us shared a room to be extra thrifty. Three comfy single beds. A blurry color TV and a cold window unit air conditioner. A great buildings, safe feeling, nice cafe downstairs and acceptable shared bathrooms. $49 per person right at Lincoln Center!

I made a last minute decision to go to Manhattan. After checking "Bed Bug Reports for New York City" and "Tripadvisor", decided to stay at the West SideYMCA for three days. I only needed a place to sleep since I would be gone all day and the price was very tempting. Also I wanted a place to swim. I arrived...

If you just want a cleaned place to sleep, it is perfect. The hostel is located very close to the Central Park, subway lines c, d and e and the Lincoln Center. They have payed internet available and a little restaurant inside. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the shared bathrooms had always someone cleaning. Public phones are located on...
