Excellent location, beautiful part of town within walking distance of the great museums. Had a reservation glitch with my booking service - but Catheryn at the desk made all problems vanish. We enjoyed the comfortable public areas on the second floor, sipping complimentary coffees and teas and enjoying the views.

I picked Hotel Wales primarily because of the location. It's only 4 blocks from my son's apartment on 96th and Madison. It also looked nice in the pictures and got good reviews online. I was pleasantly surprised by its charm and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Another nice surprise was the large room on the mezzanine where complimentary...

My first time at Hotel Wales was three years ago and the room was small and the internet didn't work. So this time, since I needed this location, I chose a full suite and got a junior suite for my kids. Mine was lovely with a good-sized bath, comfy king bed, big closet, and a very nice chaise. The heat...

We stayed at the Hotel Wales for four nights (Wed. to Sun.) with our two young daughters (ages 6 and 8). We had a king suite with a pull-out sofa bed for the girls. Our room (815) had a lovely view of the park. Street traffic was noisy at all hours during the week and quieter on the weekend. It...

When in New York, I always stay at the Hotel Wales, Madison @ 92nd St, in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood. The hotel, built in 1901, retains all the Edwardian charms of high ceilings, mahogany woodwork, & fireplaces yet offers mod cons like WiFi, bottled water, and comfy beds at excellent value. The area is filled with fragrant flower shops, bewitching...

This is an inexpensive little spot in the Upper East Side close to subway, central park, restaurants and museums, in a great neighbourhood. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
