The Waldorf should be closing immediately, not waiting for February. Everything is old, musty, dusty, broken, leaking. not working. Only good is staff who are now looking for other jobs. Will only get worse until February

Dear John E, Your review was a difficult one to read as we take great pride in the Waldorf and maintain an intent to live up to the experience virtually all expect as they ascend the Park Avenue steps for the first time. I am very sorry we did not deliver. All can agree that we'll need investment in structural...

The Towers are still an experience apart. Good to see the owners are putting a lot of effort in to upgrade the facility. Hopefully they keep it up and renovate all the guest rooms with modern amenities and installations.

The service during our stay was excellent and the location very convenient, but unfortunately the overall experience rather disappointing. The room itself, although clean, showed definite signs of wear and the water was shutoff during our stay, which was very inconvenient. Not a bad stay, but at the price not what i was expecting.

We enjoyed a wonderful time at the Waldorf. What a beautiful hotel. It's steeped in history, which the hotel embraces and celebrates. Everyone at the hotel - from the front desk manager David O'Keeffe, to the greeting agent Christine Chambless, to their visiting agent Sagheer Khan -- is proud of the hotel and took great pains to make us comfortable...

Had a great time with the family at this hotel. Great location, plenty to do at hotel and short walk to 5th Avenue. Very private with separate lift from hotel. Very comfortable beds and very helpful staff.

We stayed here last week for three nights and had a beautiful time. This hotel is due for refurbishment next year and when I compare it to Rome or Amsterdam it definitely could do, but this is not a negative comment. Everything was wonderful from the room upgrade to the housekeeping vigilance. Modern conveniences could have been better as far as having ice available on each floor and reservation references. Our roll away bed took a long time to get to the room (10 hours)!

Felt we were in a castle. Proud my husband could treat us with this luxury. Loved the snack lounge and its staff. breakfast was sumptuous. Wish we could be there again, and for more time. We were lucky. Why are you closing. Have to win a lottery to buy a small condo there which I hear you are turning into.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
