Booked up to take my wife away for her 30th birthday. Really pleased with our room, nice and spacious and staff are nice and friendly. But room service was extortionate, which is why we didn't use it, and the main reason this review is 3 stars is the fact that they don't give you free Wi-Fi in your room. For... More

We spent 2 nights in a Superior One King Bed room for our wedding anniversary. We wanted it to be special - and nostalgic - and it was. The room was spacious and lovely, the restaurants within the hotel were great for breakfast and evening. The staff were courteous and helpful (including how to get to Yankees Stadium). It was... We had a lovely stay in a suite at the Waldorf Astoria. The service is as one would expect from a hotel of this ilk. The room was luxurious and basically just perfect. What more could you ask for. We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel was perfectly located to explore everything.

Our first room was not good but all it took was one call to fix that. Second room was clearly an upgrade! They also sent an apology note and 2 free drink coupons. Two other service visits were prompt and effective fixing a tv and a bathroom issue. It's an expensive place but worth it!

very rich hotel, full of stories and charm but it is to old for young visitors. Run down and feeling of price gouging: $25 per day for the premium internet service that doesn't work is completely unacceptable. It should be free if it doesn't work properly. Ridiculously expensive menu: Over $50 for American breakfast with the all the extra charges. $35 chicken sandwich didn't even come with fries but potato chips. Rueben came in hard bun... More

I was in NY for business and decided to try the venerable Waldorf, as I had never stayed there before. It quickly became apparent that this hotel trades off its historical reputation rather than the current reality. Beautiful hotel. Very nostalgic. Located between 49th and 50th with Park Avenue. The service is so great, that they make you feel like a very important person. There's complimentary wi-fi at the lobby, but it's paid at the rooms. I'll stay at the Waldorf again whenever I can.

We stayed at the Waldorf as the first part of our trip to the USA. The lobby is spectacular and the staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a serious water leakage issue and the hotel smells of mold/mildew. After my 6 day stay, I had full blown allergies. I will not be staying here again and it is a shame because the staff is wonderful!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
