Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York is undoubtedly an iconic hotel. Conveniently located. Plush rooms. Good housekeeping. Room service is with limited spread. Breakfast has a good variety. Staff is courteous but a bit tardy.

It might be a little tired but then aren't most classics? It felt like an honour to stay here, surrounded by history which you can feel as you walk around the opulent lobby. The rooms are huge by NY standards and have that old-world charm. Putting aside the various things lacking that you would find in a modern hotel, this...

My family and I stayed here for six nights the week before Christmas 2016. This is a hotel I'd always wanted to stay at and it certainly didn't disappoint! The decor is simply stunning and the staff were very attentive, I hope that the re-fit is sympathetic to its features as we'd love to stay here again.

Took the family to New York last year and were unfortunate to have chosen this hotel. The whole place needs a major refit. The hotel claims the rooms have A/C. When I called down to ask for someone to come up and check my A/C as the room was too hot I was told to open a window.

It seems a bit pointless writing a review as the hotel is closed at the moment for renovation/revamp and change but knowing the history and legacy that the building holds is something very special. We were one of the last few guests to stay before the closure, the rate we got the hotel at was great, so I certainly can't...

A truly beautiful and stunning location, I felt as if I was in another world when I walked into the lobby. Grand and regal in every way. Staff was so very pleasant they made my birthday a night fit for a king. I can't wait for the reopening in 2020

As a diamond member, I was disappointed with our stay at the Waldorf. My partner and I take trips from Boston to New York on occasion for the theatre. I use points most of the time in New York for hotels. On the face of things, this is truly a beautiful looking hotel. However, the closer one looks, it could...

On a whim i took my teenage daughters to NYC for a weekend, we stayed at the Waldorf, it was fabulous, classic, retro, great service and one of the best locations in the city. We drove and easily left the car at the hotel, walked to Times Square and Central Park, through the American Girl store... NYC at its best.

My husband was a Diamond level customer for the last five years. We have enjoyed several vacations stays at Hilton properties, including the Conrad Bali which exceeded our wildest expectations. In December of 2016, as a holiday celebration, we planned a trip to NYC to see a play our son was producing on Broadway. As a special treat, my husband...

Perhaps it was just because my sister and I were expecting something like the Waldorf Astoria to be an amazing place, and so, had our expectations too high, but I wasn't that impressed, honestly. I've stayed in plenty of very classy boutique hotels, and it is with those in mind on which I base my experience of the Waldorf Astoria....

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
