I usually prefer more modern hotels, but I wound up LOVING the Lowell. I stayed here for 4 days on business, and it's now one of my favorite places to stay in Manhattan. THE ROOMS: Very classic - wooden beds and end tables with furnishings that almost have an upscale country vibe ... but it's tasteful, beautiful, and the gives...

The Lowell is a fabulous intimate hotel. Our king room faced the interior but did not mind as we did not spend a lot of time in the room. The king bedded room was furnished comfortably. Coffee bar, large closet and large bath in NYC standards. The bath had separate tub and shower and a double sink. The concierge was...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
