This was the second time I stayed at the Lombardy, and it's gotten considerably worse. I think that it's incumbent upon staff to make sure that a room is ready for the guest. But here were the problems: 1. There's no central air, and I walked into the room and the window heater was off, so it took a couple...

My friends and I occupied a two bedroom suite and a studio on our recent visit to New York. A friend told me about The Lombardy a couple of years ago and I thought it might be a good location for our jaunts around New York....and it was. There are many good restaurants in the area, easy walk to great shopping and...

Its entirely possible that the 5-star review has been colored slightly by my horrible stay at the millennium Broadway. I moved off-broadway after the ball drop to save a little money(200 per night) and am so glad I did because the level of service offered by the lombardy is so much better than the millennium Broadway. their over-the-top commitment to...

I'm a frequent traveller to New York and had liked the appearance of the Lombardy, with it's impressive, traditional exterior and warm inviting lobby. On first look I also liked the size of the room i.e. very large with two televisions and a kitchen area. However, I then discovered the close proximity of what was evidently a 24 hour construction...

The Lombardy Hotel fit our needs perfectly. The room was very large (900+ square feet), two nice TVs, a full kitchen, nice bathroom and was beautifully decorated. Living room had a very nice sofa and loveseat combination. Elevators were fast. Housekeeping was very efficient. Hotel is a short walk to Central Park, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Broadway and...

We have been staying at this hotel for many years and it only gets better each time. The location is perfect if you want to walk to popular restaurants, shopping and Rockefeller center. The rooms are spacious and because it is a condo hotel you generally have a living area, extra bathroom and small kitchen. They recently renovated and have...

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while attending a conference in NYC. At more than $400 a night, even in NYC, you have a right to some pretty high expectations and the Lombardy failed to meet most of those. First the pluses. My room was a good size for NYC and adequately furnished. The hotel is also very...

As other reviews on here have stated, this hotel is not "traditional" in that these are privately owned condos, and when the owners are not using them - they are sold out as hotel rooms. For us, this worked beautifully as we searched high & low to find a larger room in NYC with 2 double or queen beds. That...

First point; this is not a traditional hotel. The rooms are owned by individuals that obviously use this property as a pied-à-terre for when they come to Manhattan and hand them over to an 'administration' (masquerading as hotel staff) as hotel rooms when empty. A good business idea but this one doesn't work. It is apparent that each owner can...

Friendly service and an excellent location close to Central Park and Museum Mile. Coffee and croissants available next door are very good indeed. Only issue I had was that the shower was so powerful the bathroom floor became flooded, but no big deal.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
