On planning our trip to New York I was advised by friends to try and get a hotel close to Times Square as there are loads of restaurants and its close to the Theatre District - this was why we choose the Renaissance. What a brilliant hotel in an extremely central location. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly...

We were happy with our stay in Renaissance Time Square. Location is great and from our room we did not hear any street noises (floor 20). The other good point about hotel is it´s R lounge that has view over time square. Pity that they organise a lot of private parties there and guests cannot enjoy it during the evening....

Moved in after a night at the Marriot Marquis. Location is great. Right on Times Square and you can't miss the huge "R" which kind of guides you back to the hotel when you are new to the geography of Times Square. I had booked a room the previous night so the check in was very smooth. The rooms are...

Starting with the valet who whisked our car away for the weekend (and then promptly fetched something we forgot in the back seat), to the coffee service at the buffet breakfast with luxurious setting and view, to the terry robes, Aveda toiletries and even a little tube of toothpaste, we really enjoyed our weekend at the Renaissance. Being right is...

This was my second time staying at the Renaissance in Times Square. It has been a long time between my last stay and this one (13 years). The hotel has changed a lot as far as layout but is still a great place to stay. The staff are wonderful and I mean everyone who works there is extremely nice and...

this hotel is in the middle of Times Square, right on the corner of 7th and Broadway, a fantastic location, it is all around you. You enter into a very small lobby and reception and then up in an elevator to the first floor where the bar and Restaurant are, then across that to other elevators to the rooms. The...

We loved our stay here! The best for us was its location. Close to attractions and the subway is just few steps away. We got a room on the 27th floor so we had a quiet stay. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast is good at Vivid.

First Class hotel in the middle of Times Square. Far superior to Marriott Marquis one block away. This hotel provided Gold Member upgrade to a spacious Junior Suite. Relaxing lobby lounge with great view of Times square. Sanctuary in the middle of Times Square bustle. Marquis was an arrogant Tourist Trap in comparison. The Renaissance was classy and friendly -...

Never again. Unless you have a fetish for 50s second hand office furniture decorating a bedroom. Doors don't close, but slowly squeak open like a cheap horror film. "They Say": I must bore you for 200 characters. 1 redeeming feature: barkeep who read my mind - "you need cheering up sir, what'll it be? Oh Dear! Big Mistake! :-(

I stayed at the Renaissance in May we thought our room was warm during or long weekend stay but added up to it was cooler weather outside and the A/C was off. I brought a group 8 of my customers to the Renaissance this weekend, the first conversation Saturday morning was we turned our A/C to 60 and our rooms...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
