We've stayed at the Gardens NYC 3 or 4 times. Staff is always very personable and helpful. Kris was very helpful this last trip, as was Clifford. The building was once apartments I believe so the rooms are VERY LARGE by NYC standards. Hotel is located what is pretty much a residential street on the upper east side, where there... More

We decided to stay at Affinia Gardens so that we could easily walk to Central Park and feel like we were living on the Upper East Side for a long weekend. We had previously stayed at Affinia Fifty and loved the fact that we had a kitchen in our room. We upgraded to the Penthouse the morning of, and therefore... More

The room was large and we had a patio so that was nice. The couch did smell a big like smoke or something but we just didn't sit on it. We really only slept there and went out to see the City during the day and evenings. They did clean the room every day and they had really thick towels... More

Convenient midtown location, but noisy block and congested traffic with so many medical buildings nearby. Pros: Large rooms, kitchen for long term stay, friendly staff Cons: The kitchen so dated and rather dirty that you did not want to even use it. It was stained and gross in the cabinets and I would be hesitant to order from the limited... More

We love to stay at the Affinia gardens when we come to the city. It feels like our home away from home. It is in a great location on the upper east side near the subway and shopping. The people that work there are so pleasant and helpful. I have to give a shout out to Anna in housekeeping who... More

We started our stay with Probably one of the worst check-in. The person at the front desk couldn't be bothered as he was speaking with two of his buddies. Despite the fact that we made the reservations and specifically requested a king facing the garden, which was confirmed by phone, he checked us into a double bed room facing the... More

Enjoyed the spacious rooms and kitchenettes but thought the kitchen was missing some basic items like salt-pepper and spatula. The hotel entrance feels a bit cramped but the size of the rooms makes up for it

Upgraded to a terrace suite that would accommodate six, my wife and I had an apartment-sized home for a wonderful week in New York that makes it hard to leave. A block from a great deli/market, a few avenue blocks from Central Park, and within Subway/bus reach of anywhere else in the five boroughs, we'd miss our Upper East Side,... More

We had a wonderful experience at the Affinia Gardens. The staff, especially Kris and Nigel are awesome! The hotel really has an apartment like vibe. I really felt like I was living in the neighborhood. I also love that they are pet friendly because I always travel with my dog Coco.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
