A big shout out to Eugene, Chris and Joan at the Hampton Inn on 51st and 8th in Manhattan for their excellent and warm customer service, whether it was holding our bags or solving connectivity issues. We asked to change rooms and were easily accommodated. Will stay here again in the future. Thank you to your staff who is kind in the face of rudeness. Being yelled at by selfish people who were simply asked to use their masks properly - even in the face of this, they were not rude. Good peeps! Thanks again you three and your team.
This hotel is very close to the 50th Street Subway Station and walkable from Broadway/Times Square. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. The only drawback that I had to be contend with during my stay was no fridge inside the room. But for that one factor it was a wise decision that I made to stay put in this hotel during my summer trip to NYC. Hilton also helped me to do a checkin and select a room in advance via their app. This was very helpful indeed.
We have stayed at this location several times in the past and were back for our first visit since Covid. Everything was pretty normal except you are required to show vaccination proof to enter the breakfast area and the coffee service ends with breakfast. The selection of breakfast items was pretty close to normal. We chose to eat in our room for extra safety. The vaccination policy is in line with local ordinances and we knew ahead of time to carry our vaccine card or use the Clear vaccine app. We felt more safe in the city than our own local area in Florida.
Outdated hotel. Old bathrooms. Served the purpose for my trip which was to take my grandchildren. It was good walking distance to the areas I needed. The breakfast was average but I did like that I did not have to spend more money to eat breakfast.
This hotel is convenient to Times Square, Metro and other sites in the city. Is it brand new and trendy? No. Is it a decent hotel for a decent price in NYC? Yes. They will put a small refrigerator in your room if you ask. Room is a good size for NYC but bathrooms are small. Breakfast is basic hotel breakfast but enough to save some money on a breakfast elsewhere. Good bagels, diners, and coffee nearby.
