Situated in the heart of Times Square, the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan is lauded for its prime location, a hit among guests eager to explore the vibrancy of Broadway. Despite this, many visitors have voiced their dissatisfaction with the service, experiencing unresponsive staff and lengthy waits. The hotel has also received criticism for its value, with guests feeling shortchanged by unexpected costs and substandard amenities.
Room comfort is another area of concern, as reports of outdated decor and inconsistent room temperatures suggest a pressing need for refurbishment. Although the hotel's cleanliness earns praise, with several guests finding the rooms and common areas well-kept, the overall atmosphere and amenities leave much to be desired, lacking the expected conveniences and communal spaces.

What can I say the Crowne Plaza really looked after me and my husband for my surprise 50th birthday. As soon as we arrived for my birthday they gave us free drink vouchers for a couple of alcoholic drinks and also some free cocktails and also gave us two When we arrived as it was for my 50th birthday the reception team were lovely they gave us some free drink vouchers for our stay and two free breakfasts which was so lovely and made the beginning of our trip extra special so thank you. When we arrived at the hotel we couldnt believe how big it was with either an escalator or lift to take you up to the reception area.
The hotel was lovely so modern and right in the heart of Times Square with fantastic views. We were on the 35th floor and the views were amazing. The room was so clean, modern and big. The rooms have black out curtains, are warm and the rooms are made up with clean bedding every day. Big TVs with hairdryers too. The beds are so big like super king size so we had a fantastic sleep all week. Fresh towels are put out in the bathroom each day and such a nice touch the complimentary small toiletries in the bathroom. The showers are so large and hot water so quickly.
One day was so magical as it was snowing all day so the views from our room was amazing looking down from so high up. The hotel was lovely decorated all for Christmas and we ate in the hotel restaurant once and the food was nice. The bar area was extra special as some lovely views so sit near the front to look over Times Square. Lovely touch near the lifts was a food/drink area where you can buy wine, coffee and other refreshments, fresh danishes for breakfast, lunches like sandwiches and baguettes and salads, lots of yummy cakes. We took a couple of cheese board boxes to our room one day which was lovely and the hotel are very flexible if you take food back to your room which is nice from outside places.
The concierge was extremely helpful and helped us book some sight saver passes which saved quite a bit of money and they helped out with us getting to and from places and provided maps too.
When we checked out the receptionist asked when we were leaving and gave us some more free drink vouchers for the bar to get a drink each until our transfer picked us up directly outside the hotel for the airport which was very kind.
So all in all the Crown Plaza we can’t thank you all enough you made this 50th birthday for me extra extra special and anyone wanting a fantastic stay in the heart of Times Square, New York we recommend here as the staff are lovely and friendly and the hotel is so modern you’d struggle to find somewhere as good. Thank you we loved it but so sad to leave but you made a couple from Nottingham, England have such a special memory that we will treasure always.

We visited NY with family and stayed at the hotel from the 28th December for 5 days. The hotel is very central and very welcoming. As an Elite Spire member, my husband was gifted a daily $25 voucher towards food / drinks to be used in the hotel - we used it for breakfast at the cafe and just made up the difference with cash. We also received 2 drinks vouchers per room which was a nice gesture.
The rooms are spacious and light and perfect for a city break. We generally spend very little time in the room when we have such a short time in a city so we didn’t have any complaints here. If you’re interested in using the gym, it’s really good. I used it twice. It has so much equipment, I just wish I’d had more time and energy to use it more!
On New Year’s Eve we did the Starry Night package which was truly awesome. Our waiter was extremely attentive (sadly didn’t catch his name), which meant that our glasses were never empty. The food was delicious and there was more than enough choice for everyone. David Kanters, the Hotel Manager was brilliant, a real credit to the hotel. He couldn’t have done enough for us. His continued care and kindness enabled us to have the best night ever with so many amazing memories! Thank you David!
This was a bucket list trip and New York, Times Square, you did not disappoint!

We checked in straight from JFK at the peak of check-in time on 1st January 2020 having been travelling for more than 24 hours (from Brisbane). At first sight the long queue for check-in did not offer much hope of seeing a bed for a couple of hours. The first of our surprises at the Crowne Plaza was how well organised they were. The queue moved astonishingly quickly and we were in our room inside 20-minutes. In New York City you can't expect large rooms but the one we had was more than adequate, clean and fresh.
'Snack' time in the bar/restaurant in the lobby was surprise number 2. By NYC standards the prices are more than reasonable. By anyone's standards the portions were huge.
Breakfast was the next surprise. An array of fresh fruit, cooked food, cereals and anything else you might want was all readily available in the buffet. Staff were on hand all the time should you need anything.
Easy walk to the Christmas tree, Macy's and all the other stores as well as Broadway theatres so no complaints on location either.
The only sour note was the imposition of a very heavy "resort tax" levied by most NYC hotel. We knew about it so no surprise but I am wary of locations that export their taxes, No difference, economically, to taxing their exports. Not the hotels fault but it makes for a black mark against New York.
Having said that, if you have to go to New York City you won't be disappointed with the Crowne Plaza.

This was an absolute disgrace! I stayed there with my wife and 2 toddlers. It was by far the worse hotel experience we've ever had! The room was dirty! Unorganized & unsafe! Our first room had broken glass on the floor putting my children at risk, and if that wasn't bad enough there were exposed electrical live power cords which our child discovered, God knows what could have happened if we didn't see it in time!!!! The amount of time we had to wait for these matters to be attended to was ridiculous, included broken door locks.. cabinet door broken.poo on the floors.. The list goes on and on.. you could even say that they don't care! The kids were uncomfortable and unable to sleep until my wife cleaned up the room and made it safe enough for our children to be put to bed. I highly do not recommend this hotel. The staff are uneducated unprofessional and rude, they offered us a compensation of 50% which we never received.

Hello vatolocov, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at the Crowne Plaza and share it with us. With the goals to achieve high-quality standards, deliver guest satisfaction and serve traveler's needs, Crowne Plaza was born. We are proud to be a hotel that is easy to do business with, unfortunately, during your stay, this does not seem to be the case. Particularly for the cleanliness of the room when you arrived and the level of service that was provided to address the concerns you raised. For this, I would like to apologize that you were not given the standards of hospitality that we expect from our staff and management. We have taken the liberty of providing them your feedback and coaching to ensure that these issues are not repeated. Furthermore, I have sent a private message to collect more information from you, as I would want to learn more about your stay. As we strive to continuously achieve high-quality standards, deliver guest satisfaction and serve traveler's needs, your comments are instrumental and valued. We hope to host your party in the future should you give us another chance to be your hotel of choice. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Safe Travels. Hector P Case Manager IHGService

This Crowne Plaza is in a great location to lots of activities and sights seeing. There are positives and negatives to being in Times Square though! Everything is at your fingertips but it’s more expensive, including every meal you’ll eat, and there’s lots of noise and crowds. I was here for work, and needed to be near the 1 train and the E train (to get to and from JFK’s AirTrain) so this fit the bill.
Was the hotel clean and comfortable? Yes. Did I sleep well? Yes. They had free WiFi and a gym. But it was just average for me. It didn’t have some of the basic things I expect when I travel (I should say I usually stay at Marriotts). It didn’t have a mini-fridge, which would have been nice and seems to be almost a given. For the large size of the lobby, I was really surprised and disappointed that they only had a handful of chairs for guests to sit in. The hotel is 30+ stories, not sure how many guests it holds, but the only place to sit other than your room is in their bar/restaurant seating. To me that’s very inconvenient, especially if you are in town with a large group and you are waiting for people to assemble in the lobby. There were always just groups of people standing around, and I don’t know about you, but when I go to NYC I put on 15-20,000 steps a day, so I like to sit when I can 😃.
Another thing I thought was strange was that the shower water took a very long time to get warm. I called maintenance and the guy who came up told me I just had to run it for a long, long time and it might get warmer (doesn’t this go against their “sustainability goals”?) If not call back tomorrow and they would change the cartridge.... um why would I have to call back tomorrow? Put in a work order, that’s your responsibility not mine. I also requested that the ice maker on my floor get fixed, and he showed me that it was making ice but not spitting it out. He let me take as much as I wanted but I was told it wouldn’t get fixed, there were other things to do. Previously, the front desk people were apologetic about the ice and told me I could go up or downstairs... of course I can, and that’s why they are getting an average rating.

We stayed as a family of 3, my wife and daughter (12yrs).
We arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday, check in was quick and easy and the lady on reception was welcoming. We had a room on the 39th floor, two double beds (small doubles though so be warned) which was plenty big enough for the 3 of us as we didn’t plan on spending much time in there.
Location is great if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of Times Square, it was our first visit and we wanted this but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Coffee and Tea facilities in room which was great, and the food in the restaurant and bars was perfectly acceptable. The Cuban sandwich and chicken wings were awesome from the Broadway Bar...
We only had breakfast once and it was fine but expensive and with a million options in the area we wanted to try other places everyday.
The bar and restaurant are quite expensive but probably average for the area $10 for a pint of IPA for example so a couple of drinks for the 3 of us after a busy day and we were looking at around $60+ every night.
The shower was awful, no pressure and the controls were either ice cold or lava so was difficult to get a decent flow going. But that was our only complaint.
Big shout out to Tony in the Broadway bar! What a absolute gent he was. Friendly, energetic he made our evenings when in the bar after a long day exploring, keen to hear what we had been up to and giving useful recommendations - the world would be a much better place with more Tony’s in it.
Overall good hotel, and a very pleasant stay. We would likely book again.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Crown Plaza Hotel in Times Square Manhattan. Although I have visited other Crown Plaza’s locations, this particular location has confirmed that all of their chain of locations are all phenomenal.
From their cleanliness, exclusive lobby area, awesome location, and outstanding customer service (Freddy was the best!); I will definitely make this my number one pick when choosing a hotel in New York. I can return again and again. Therefore, I highly recommend this hotel to someone who loves great room city views, close walking distance to shopping stores/restaurants, and a great atmosphere and attentive customer service! Their text messaging customer service system was very impressive. Crown Plaza is my all-time favorite hotel!

Myself and partner have just come home from a 6 night stay at the crowne plaza Times Square, as others have said this hotel is in a fantastic location, near to multiple subway stops, restaurants and shops.
We paid extra to have a view of Times Square and the room was very spacious and clean, as others have said, there is no fridge in room, and for price of stay you would expect water in the room. We had a large walk in shower in bathroom, most morning we were up at 7 and had no issues with temperature of shower, how ever when we did get up after 8 the shower went from freezing to boiling hot and back again constantly!
As I booked the hotel through British airways the “resort fee” was included so I didn’t have to pay this. However .... I would have been quite annoyed if I did ... during our 6 night stay I couldn’t say we used one facility that would warrant nearly $300 of resort fees!

We booked the traditional rooms on 36 floor for 2 nights and 4 nights at the city view room after we returned from Niagara Falls. The location is great with subway stations at a stone throw. The room is cold for our 1st 2 nights even when the temperature shows 27 degree. The warmer is working well for our last 4 nights. The room is clean but not really what I expected for a renovated room. If you order items online and send to the hotel, do note that there will be a storage fee. The hotel doesn’t store luggage overnight when we travel to Niagara Falls and return after 2 days.

Stayed here from Xmas eve for 5 nights ,this hotel is perfect if you want to be in the centre of Times Square for us it was far to busy to get to the hotel from afternoon onwards in the streets leading up to the hotel
The hotel itself is very busy room was a good size with 2 very comfortable beds which we needed as we walked about 40 odd miles in total .Being a platinum elite member I was given various vouchers for breakfast etc which was a great saving as we used breakfast every day apart from Xmas day as my daughter wanted to try Hard Rock Cafe just 5 mins walk away which we all enjoyed as well good to visit .
All in all the hotel is great needs updating in some rooms which they are doing at the moment they are refurbishing the entrance at present . I would recommend this hotel for future travellers and you know what your getting with Crowne plaza

I don’t know. We took an uber to and from.
The room has two double beds, each of which would be about 136x189cm.
Ha pasado mucho tiempo pero no recuerdo haber tenido un frigorífico en mi habitación.
