A huge fairly impersonal hotel but after saying that, a very nice welcome at reception at check in, a very nice room, well appointed, good quality hair dryers in the room which was always spotless. location is good for uptown.

We chose the Grand Hyatt because it is directly next to Grand Central station and easy access to the subway train to the US Open tennis. We were beyond pleased with the customer service. The hotel decor is contemporary and very impressive and clean. We checked in at 1pm and our room was ready. The check-in personnel were very friendly...

The entrance to the room is small - you can barely get you suitcase in through the door. The room is nice but not very spacious. It worked for us because we really didn't stay in our room. Two double beds are small doubles not the queen double found in most hotels. The room had a fridge, safe, and iPod...

Stayed here for 7days during our anniversary vacation last Feb 2013. Possibly the most basic Grand Hyatt I've ever stayed in. Room was adequately big. Bed was super comfortable as expected in a Hyatt hotel. But the bathroom is too small, in my opinion. I have a lot of toiletries and had nowhere to place them. Did not order for...

Best feature: location, beside Grand Central Station, approx walking times: 10 minutes→ Times Square or Bryant Park, 20 minutes→ Empire State, approx $12 cab ride → Central Park; lots of good eateries within walking distance. Access Grand Central directly from Hotel - concerned noise/commuters might be an issue- thankfully they were not, you would never know the hotel is atop...

The location is ideal for business travellers as it is attached to Grand Central. The room had no ironing board, the phone did not work, and the refigerator was broken. When I mentioned this to the Hotel front desk rep I was handed my bill and no apology. The Millienium is much better and will be staying there from now...

The hotel is very busy with tourists and business people milling around the lobby at all times.. I tried calling the front desk for something and had to call back several times before anyone would pick up the phone. The location is superb, being next to Grand Central terminal. The amenities are fairly standard; the rooms are spacious and clean. I...

Location is excellent for visiting New York. We stayed for a 7-night holiday arriving into JFK which is ideal as the hotel is non the East Side of Manhattan. Large open-plan lobby - rooms are large and the bathrooms vary - we stayed in room 2641 (inside room) where it was an L-shaped room with a spacious lounge and king-size...

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for two days. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly, especially for a NYC hotel. The location is great and price reasonable. BUT, the bathrooms are tiny. And, in an attempt to maximize the space, there is a shelf under the mirror that runs just above the sink. After hitting my head three times...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
