First the good: great location in Times Square, cool old building, most of the staff was friendly and helpful, our shower was good despite some others' experiences. Now the not so good : small room with extremely small bathroom - difficult for 4 people in a double queen classic room, not enough outlets in the room, noisy due to ongoing...

Dear Traveling Texans_11, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you liked our location and the property, our staff and the shower. We were very sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with the size of your accommodations. Our hotel was built in 1931 when room size expectations were more modest and in a city where space is...

Our rating of the Edison Hotel would be 2.5/5 (not 3/5), if half marks were available on this site. We stayed at the Edison hotel during the last week of June as a group of 12 people on a business/pleasure type trip of exploring the city’s art and culture. ROOM ISSUES: Most of us stayed in the “Classic Two Queen...

This place is in the middle of renovating their rooms so some are nice and others are pretty cramped, old, and in some places, dirty. The batrooms are a small as a closet with a shower that changes from hot to cold the entire time you are using it. If you arrive before your check-in time, they will hold your...

Stayed at the Edison after seeing a show. Old, but well kept, clean hotel. Very nice art deco décor. Room was small, but that was expected. The "queen size" bed was more likely for a princess instead. It was comfortable and served it's purpose. Out the door and steps away from Times Square was great. Proximity to theaters and restaurants,...

My mom and I stayed at the Edison on our trip to New York. The lobby is beautifully decorated and the whole hotel is very clean. The hotel is currently going through renovations and we received one of the older rooms. It was dated in style but very clean and functional. It was almost a novelty to see the old...

I stayed at the Edison Hotel in December 2011 and I loved it! Before I went I saw a few reviews stating some of the rooms were a little dated, so I emailed the hotel asking if possible if we could have a newly refurbished room and upon arrival we were given this! (Not sure if all the rooms have...

We stayed 5 nights in a regular king room on the fourth floor. Although it is an older hotel, the room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is literally steps from Times Square and all the shows, restaurants and shopping. It is a very good value (for Times Square) and you can't beat the location. Another plus is the...

It's not one of those NYC nightmare hotel experiences -- but this place is old, worn and overpriced. My "recently redecorated" room was clean, but that's about it. White walls, bed, chair, dresser, TV. It's not a "good value". There are much better hotels for the same price. The lobby is a zoo, nowhere near enough staff to check people...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Hotel Edison. We had pre booked an apartment elsewhere whereby they cancelled our stay at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
