I went to NY for surgery & my Dr recommended the Carlyle since it was close to his office. My stay was exceptional and the hotel and staff could not have done anything else to make me feel more comfortable or welcome. Thank you to the Carlyle & your amazing staff!!!

Since 2010, this has been our go-to hotel when we come to NYC. We continually to choose the Carlyle because of it's staff and location. Having said that, my only consistent complaint has been that the front desk staff, one of your first impressions when you enter the hotel, can be very aloof and cold. I never receive a smile,...

Got it, old, famous hotel which is going through renovation/rebranding and whatever else you want to call it but I do not understand how service can be so bad from the front desk to room service. Rude! The only good spot is the restaurant at least service wise. I think this place needs new leadership team!

We stayed 3 nights at The Carlyle which was one of my favorite experiences in the world. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect as it overlooked the city on three sides with ample space, a little kitchenette and a little walk-in closet The first night, we visited the bar where Andy our bartender kept us hydrated throughout...

Because we were celebrating a special occasion, we were given an upgrade when we arrived. Our room was on the 8th floor and was very large, overlooking Madison Ave. The spacious room and bath were well appointed with high end Kiehl toiletries and lots of fluffy towels. It was cleaned several times a day as we never found it messy...

We could write a lovely story on the excellence and dignified service and luxury at the Carlyle Hotel because of the many facets of doing it right all the way, right away, the first time. First impressions and last impressions were consistent. The room upgrade to a suite was larger than the apartment we owned in nyc. Lovely! Heated bathroom...

I recently was fortunate enough to have lunch in the restaurant at The Carlyle Hotel. It was simply superb from start to finish. A wonderful room with atmosphere but where you can also hear your friends talk. The food was wonderful with the flourless chocolate cake from the dessert trolley a highlight for me. It was exactly the sort of...

How do I do this review? There are so many small things I could complain about if I was to compare the Carlyle with an uber modern hotel. But I'm not going to complain as it's old school shabby chic feel is what makes me and my wife LOVE it! Sure it needs a bit of paint and the plumbing...

How can I describe staying at the Carlyle? Its like staying at the home of an eccentric, rich elderly aunt who happens to own a property in NYC. The hotel is comfortable in an old school way. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
