The hotel is very convenient for me since I have family in Tribeca. Still, I could stay in a number of places, but my daughter recommended this one. It's an old hotel which was refurbished and renamed The Frederick. Its style is traditional with art deco accents - though it has the modern creature comforts you would expect in a good hotel room. I've stayed here twice. Each time, check-in is fast and efficient and staff or always pleasant. For my first stay, my room was so inviting and roomy for a NY hotel. I couldn't wait to get back after going out. It had a view of the street below. The 2nd time, the window faced a brick wall and the room was smaller - so not as enjoyable. Since check-in was Friday between 5-6 pm, we did get complimentary wine which was delicious. I loved the map of NY embedded in the subway tile throughout the hotel. The next time I stay (which I certainly will), I will specifically ask for a room with a view. The little bar on the first floor is quaint and perfect for a nightcap and good conversation.…
We loved staying at The Frederick! A perfect hotel. And our room was just right for us. The windows, the views, the bathroom and the size of the room! Thank you so much. We will be back again and again. The lobby smells incredible, the staff wonderful and the little bar is fabulous with delicious margaritas!
The hotel is perfectly located in Trtibeca, a beautiful quite area in lower Manhattan . The hotel is very close to metro station, but it's a very nice waking distance to the other parts of Manhattan. The crew is extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean and warm( we had a double queen beds for three people) and we stayed comfortable enough, because it's really a tiny room with so little space that maybe sharing in 4 people wouldn't be so comfortable. Breakfast was included and really very good We'll definitely come back to Frederick hotel when in NYC again
We stayed at The Frederick with our three daughters in January for 8 days and absolutely loved it. It’s in a fantastic location with a subway stop out the front and loads of great restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms are small, but that was not unexpected , and they are beautifully styled and very comfortable. We had two rooms for the five of us and we were all very comfortable. The bathrooms are gorgeous !! The staff were great, particularly Tenjie and Merry. We would absolutely recommend it as a fabulous play to stay.
Simply outstanding hotel! Beautiful rooms albeit small but superbly clean, come with robes, slippers, truly fully stocked minibar bar with drinks and snacks plus an untiring staff of professionals always available for any need. Superb
Excellent location, warm welcome, friendly staff, cozy room. We were steps away from the subway station, a few blocks away from Ground Zero and from the Brooklyn Bridge. The restaurant at the hotel was also excellent.
a true hidden gem of a stay in nyc. it's so rare to find rooms with this amount of space for the price. a standard room is a suite size and it's so clean and beautiful. completely renovated bathrooms, comfy beds, cute decor. love the mini bar. very thought out and well done
Friendly service, great location and neighbourhood, small but nice and efficient room perfect for two. Has feeling of an intimate boutique hotel, metro is practically out the front door, Serafina restaurant is attached and excellent and convenient for food. Lounge behind the lobby was lovely, and late check out (noon) or 1:00 pm if you book direct was appreciated. Umbrellas for the rain, booked car for the airport… We loved our stay and will return. Price and value was amazing for NYC!
We came in on an unplanned trip to NYC New Year ‘s Eve. The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. Ryan at the front desk and Tenjie our bellman took amazing care if us! Belinda in guest services came to our room to check on us after we arrived. We received a bottle of wine and very special care from the staff. Our experience was beautiful in every way!
We were looking for a comfortable and casual and affordable hotel for our recent stay in New York. After a comprehensive internet search, we settled on the Frederick. We were not disappointed. From the time the booking was confirmed until we arrived the staff acted to insure my needs for minor disabilities were addressed. Upon arrival we found ourselves placed in a cozy, quiet and very clean room. The three most important qualities I look for in a hotel are cleanliness, a firm mattress and first rate bedding. The Frederick met this criteria. Although we never made use of it, Room Service was available. There is a bar adjacent to the lobby and also a restaurant that was relaxed and lively and serving tasty Italian fare. I found the staff to be helpful and cheerful without being obsequious and that is always a good thing in my book. I am made uncomfortable in a hotel with fawning service. The service at the Frederick hit just the right notes for me. It should also be mentioned that the Chambers Street subway station entrance is just a few steps away from the front door of the hotel. This is an enormous convenience and savings for getting around all over New York City. We would gladly stay at the Frederick again and recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a lodging such as I have attempted here to describe.…
