Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenaged children stayed 4 nights in a one bedroom suite on 22nd floor. The suite was fab for us. It was on the corner of the hotel looking down Broadway towards midtown with great views. There is a small kitchenette and a great Fairways market across the road where we bought breakfast and... I stayed at Hotel Beacon because of its proximity to the Beacon Theatre. My parents, husband, and I stayed in one of the suites with one bedroom and a living room with a pullout bed. PROS: Great location for the Beacon Theatre or Central Park! Reasonable price...our room was like $375/night (remember, we had the suite) Across the street from... More

We've often stayed at the Lucerne but they were booked our most recent trip (February 2013) - this was our first stay at the Beacon and we were very happy with the hotel and location. Had a great view of the city from an upper floor room (20th) and the hotel is very close to the 72nd St subway (1,2,3... More

When making the reservation and upon check-in, I explained that our last experience was great with exception of all of the construction noise. I specifically asked to be placed away from any areas that were undergoing renovations. The room was great when we first checked in, but our refrigerator didn't work. We had tickets for a show that night and... More

I love this property! As a returning guest, the great staff greet me at the front like a friend, and the house-keeping service seems to know I tear through towels and want decaf coffee in my kitchen! The one bedroom 'sweet suites' allow me to cook up a storm, and when I want to eat out, there are plentiful places... More

We stayed here mid last year and found the hotel to be a great base to explore NYC. It is about 2 blocks from the underground trains and an easy ride into Time Square. There is a fantastic fresh food market across the street from the hotel where you can buy all your food and stuff you need to take... More

We were here in August '12. It was HOT. This was a great base. We had a really nice room, the AC worked, we had a little kitchen and a lounge area. It was clean, the staff were friendly. It really was fine. The best Deli you'll ever see is across the street. 72nd St Broadway subway station is 100... More

Two week stay here and loved it. True, no typical services for major hotel, but kitchenette is great to prep food from fairway across the street. 24/7 fairway offers the best produce, coffee, cheese, etc. bed was comfortable, bathroom small, but adequate. Some reviews say location not great, but the neighborhood is safe, clean, walkable, and served by the 1,2,3... More

For us, this was a thumbs-up: a good-size room with good in-room amenities at a good price for NYC. But the hotel itself is lacking a lot of the amenities of a larger hotel, and it isn't in a great location for most tourists. Whether the Hotel Beacon will make sense for you depends on what you want/need. PROS: -... More

Stayed at the Beacon for 5 nights with my sister in law. We had a room with 2 double beds, on the 14th floor. Beds really comfortable, everything spotlessly clean. Loved having the kitchenette although we only used it for drinks. Specially liked the coffee machine and provision of a kettle, tea being very important to both of us! Housekeeping... More
