Upper West Side
Nestled between Central Park and the Hudson River, the Upper West Side offers iconic architecture and a quiet, residential respite from the buzzing energy of downtown. Along Central Park West are many of the city’s most iconic apartment buildings, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, which has been welcoming visitors to its historic exhibit halls for over 140 years. Culture fans will love Lincoln Center, home to some of the world’s best opera, dance, film, and theatre performances, all centrally located around a beautiful fountain. Spanning the entire length of the Upper West Side, Riverside Park is ideal for a long, leisurely stroll in a quiet green space.

Our new place to go. All staff members were friendly and efficient. Room was great. Felt privileged to be on “Mary’s” floor. Very friendly greeters! View of Broadway and no noise! Slept like a baby. Kitchenette was smart to have. Neighborhood is perfect after a day at Javits.

My daughter and I were visiting Columbia University as a prospective law school. We loved our whole experience at the Beacon Hotel as well as all of New York City. The doormen and the concierge were particularly helpful.

We always stay at the Beacon when in NYC. Most spacious suites for the price. Great neighborhood with lots of food choices, markets and shopping. Close to Metro. Can easily access any part of the city. Feels like home!

There are many ways. Taxi, bus, subway. I usually get a metrocard for the subway. The card can be swiped up to 5 times at the subway entrance so you only need one for the family. Each trip costs $2.75 so I use it for the longer trips. Other than that I walk. Walking is great and you see so much more. Walk whenever you can. 72nd St/Broadway subway station is a 4 min walk serving the (red) 1,2 and 3 trains. Central Park is only 10 min walk away. If you are flying into JFK, you can use your metrocard to get to and from the airport on subway and air train.
