Okay, I tried to be open minded. I used to nice hotels.. five star, world class hotels. But, I just couldn't bear this hotel and left after a couple hours stay and went to the local Hyatt, which was awesome!! I left because the room was very cold and the air blew right on my bed. It could not be...

We stayed in the San Carlos from 19 to 23 December 2012. We were coming with my daughter and needed enough room for three and were not disappointed. We had a suite with king bed for about $300/night and it was quite comfortable, a bedroom and fully separate living room with sofa bed, along with a kitchenette and a table....

The San Carlos is a good hotel with excellent rooms and central to all you need in NY. There is nothing wrong with rooms, cleanliness, breakfast is adequate even with plastic plates and cutlery, porters are extremely helpful. It is not the cheapest and for the price, I think they had opportunities to do better and didn't. I booked through...

This is a wonderful place for families or anyone wanting a New York accommodation larger than the postage-stamp rooms available at the hotel chains. The San Carlos is family owned and we even met the friendly owner himself in the lobby one morning. He went out of his way to ask if we were comfortable and well-cared for at his...

We stayed a total of 11 nights at San Carlos hotel and would thnk about staying here again. We are a family of 4 and we stayed in 2 rooms. For the price you pay, the room is a good size and the location is good. You can take the subway from the left of the hotel or right of...

I recently traveled with my mom and two sisters (60 and 30s), and we chose to stay at the San Carlos Hotel after reading recommendations on Trip Advisor. I can say that we were very happy with our choice to stay here, and after staying in other hotels on different trips, this is the only one we would come back...

Being a very frequent visitor to New York, my last visit was spent at the San Carlos. Overall, the stay was completely hassle-free. I travelled with two friends, staying in a room with a sofa bed in the separate living room. We found the whole property very clean and staff generally friendly (happy to suggest bars - very good ones,...

We stayed in a 1-BR suite for one night when we came up to take our daughter to a broadway show. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are a very good size (for NYC). The beds and furnishings were comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped. Yes, it was small, but it was well done. The staff were uniformly...

I have been in this Hotel in December 2012 in a suite room. PRO: - The room are very clean and spacious with all the amenities that you expect. - The bed is very comfortable but not King size. It may be too small for an "oversized" couple - The Staff is "genuine" and very helpful - Location is good...

We chose this lovely hotel for four days based on Tripadvisor comments and we were not disapointed! Great welcome, really big, comfortable, immaculate room, and central location just down the road from Times Square, Broadway and Grand Central Station. I would like to say thank you to the staff who were very helpful. There is a great diner opposite. P.S. Beware...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
