We just came back from spending a week in New York City. The staff of the hotel was always friendly and helpful. When we had questions about where to eat or how to get somewhere, someone always gave a helpful answer. One of the doormen even noticed that my husband had left his wallet in a taxi. The hotel is... HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 21 May 2016 via mobile

I loved staying at the San Carlos hotel! Beds were super comfy, staff always greeted us with a smile. The hotel offers a good breakfast, different types of yogurt, breads, cakes, coffee, tea basically all you need to start your day right! The location is perfect, in the middle of Manhattan, close to everything yet far enough from all the... More

I was expecting a decent-sized room given the online reviews that I saw, but the room was very small. (It was a room with one queen bed for me and my child.) I should have measured the room, but my guess is that it's about 150 sq. ft (not including the bathroom and the entry area). Other than this, everything... More

I just returned from a girls trip and we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We were able to check in earlier than expected, so that was a big plus! We had a suite and it had two queen beds and a living room with a pull-out sofa bed. There were 6 of us. It was very roomy. There... More

We stayed here with 4 kids in August. The suite is large and a great size for a big family. There was a small kitchenette that came in handy. Rooms were very clean and modern. Staff were extremely helpful at all times. The free breakfast really helped us a lot. The only negatives: There should be 24hrs room service. We... More

Great hotel with a lot to offer. Room was 600 sq ft and was glad I moved from a hotel a few blocks away. Had a living area space and a bar area. Fridge was well stocked with all sorts of drinks. Very spacious. Great fitness area. Breakfast area was good but food was limited on options.

Fantastic stay for four nights while in town for the NY marathon. Lovely mini suite with microwave and fridge. The room was spotless, king sized bed very comfortable, heaps of wardrobe space and although we rarely watched TV there seemed to be a plenty to chose from. The complimentary continental breakfast is also included, but if that isn't for you... More

Loved this place! Wonderful, welcoming and friendly staff. Room and public areas were scrupulously clean and warmly decorated. We felt immediately at home in our room, which consisted of a sitting room/efficiency kitchen and a separate bedroom. Great location for exploring; we walked to the Gershwin for the evening Broadway show of Wicked; a nice walk in a safe neighborhood.... More

Perfect location, great value, spacious rooms. This place is right near Rockefeller and all the great shopping in NYC. On a beautiful day you can walk just about anywhere from this location. The rooms were so spacious. We've found the hotel we will frequent whenever we are in town.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
