This hotel was a "real" New York experience in that we felt like we were staying in a New York style apartment which added to our wonderful experience of the city. Close to subway on 16th Street and close to both 5th and 6th Avenue. Time Square is a reasonable walk as well. While the rooms are very small, you...

Very pleased with the room. The hotel is currently doing renovations but that didn't matter to me. My room was recently renovated, clean, modern, and comfortable. Yes the room was small but I knew that going in...besides this is Manhattan! Great location. The staff did their job...not overtly friendly but again this is Manhattan.

We spent one night at the Chelsea Inn, a Saturday night and it was just wonderful. There were four of us and two couples each had their own private bedroom and both couples shared a bathroom. This was great because no one else other than the two couples had access to that particular bathroom. The rooms are very nice, clean...

I was very apprehensive about staying at this hotel after reading recent reviews since the renovations started and not being informed at my time of booking or since that this would be taking place. However on arrival it was lovely to be impressed and make our minds up. This hotel is in a great location, close to several subway stations...

filthy, noisy, staff seems not to want to be bothered, and the worst: they take 150$ as a guarantee and tell you it will be refunded right away...it is NOT so. I checked out 2 days ago, and money is still not refunded. Scam...

The Chelsea Inn was in a great location for many of the sites and museums I wanted to visit. It's a great neighborhood. The hotel is close to a number of subway lines, so it's easy to head uptown to a concert or play. The hotel is in the midst of being remodeled, and the room I stayed in was...

Do NOT stay here! Looks okay from outside, but there is construction ALL DAY, it's very noisy, people seemingly live there on a very low budget and rooms (and common spaces) are filthy. You have been warned!

I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Chelsea Inn. 2 friends and I made a reservation for a room with 3 single beds, which we called to confirm a week before our arrival; imagine our surprise when we found ourselves in a room with one king sized bed, holes in the wall and a non-functioning window. Further,...

Myself, along with my two other friends, booked at stay here from 3/24/16 through 3/27/16. Needless to say, our stay was less than appeasing. In fact, it was downright awful. I am not one to usually write about my dissatisfaction with my hotel stays, especially when I think it's a one-time issue, but our stay here was absolutely unacceptable. We...

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
