Upon arriving at the hotel, my new husband and I were so excited to be in New York. We were first time visitors and couldn't wait to get out and explore. The reception staff were very curt at check-in. They asked us to pay $50 per night (and didn't explain why) and then gave us our room key. There was no friendly, welcoming chat which made me feel a little deflated. The room itself was small. It had an iron, ironing board, safe, coffee machine and hairdryer. It also came with some mini toiletries. The air con was fab, and easy to control. Beds were made and towels freshened daily which was great. The location is perfect for exploring the main attractions but it is extremely busy so the noise outside was quite loud until around 2am - and we were on the 8th floor. The noise didn't bother us but thought it was worth a mention. The hotel does have WiFi but it never worked for us on the 8th floor. I did mention to reception staff but nothing was done about it. All in all, a decent stay.…
Well over all I didn’t have a horrible experience while staying here. The room was decent considering that I booked it from a third party. The only thing that blew my mind was upon entering my room my shower had no shower curtain. I called housekeeping and they said we’ll be right up only to not show up for an hour. I went downstairs and when I asked the male clerk at the front about it he literally told me with an obligated tone “We don’t have shower curtains”. The manager (I’m guessing he was) who was standing next to him kinda addressed the situation like he worked in a dive bar. “I’ll take care of it” he said in yet another obligated tone. I left to get some food and came back an hour later still to no shower curtain. I then made a call to the front desk and I was finally in talks with someone who actually cared. 2 minutes later someone finally came up and put a brand new shower curtain in the bathroom. Being a very easy going person; I tried not to make a big deal out of this but the management needs to be improved. Other than that I didn’t hate it.…
This hotel is in a good location however the rooms are subpar. We were expecting the room to be small but we did not expect it to be dirty, have poor ventilation, a leaking cooling unit and a broken shower which flooded the toilet each time. On top of this, we were forced to pay a $200 security deposit at the point of check-in which we were told we would be returned a week after checkout at most. However, it has been almost a month and we have had no response despite numerous calls and emails to the hotel. There are no contact details or even an email address for international users apart from a contact form on their website which means that even when you submit a claim you will have no proof of sending it from your end. We got our family in America to call them but the staff have been unhelpful and are now declining the calls altogether. We feel scammed and will not be staying here ever again and would advise that you look elsewhere if you can.…
when we arrived we were late because our lift did not turn up the place was shrouded in scaffolding i cut my foot on broken tiles on on the floor of one lift and the noises from the lift was extremely disconcerting the room had no fridge in it To keep things cool paint was coming off the door frames the wooden flooring was not correctly put together they give you a coffee machine the one we had was moldy on top of the water the staff were very good but would i choose to stay their never in a moth of sundaes certainly had a detrimental effect on our anniversary
Good location good workers no complaints at all restaurant good very close to time square rooms clean housekeeping very nice public parking cross the street 0 complaint thanks for you service ☺️!!!!!!
Stayed on a work trip, supervising 20+ college students visiting NY. Location is excellent, seconds from Times Square. Check in was smooth and a couple of small issues with rooms (no safe, broken hairdryer) were quickly and easily resolved. The rooms are more on the basic side but have everything you require and are clean.
Stayed at the hotel for nearly a week. From the moment I arrived, the staff was disappointing. The receptionists doing night shifts were all grumpy at best, and made one feel that "the customer is always wrong" at worst. The hotel room is okay, the wifi is awful, and most days there weren't any large towels in the room. The elevators are old, quite small, and slow. House keeping had their days, but many times they completely ignored the "do not disturb" sign, while actually saying "oh, you don't need this sign". Once they even opened the door when I was in the room. So, overall, I probably wouldn't return there anytime soon, but it's not the worst hotel in NY that I experienced.
Absolute garbage. There’s way better hotels for less money in the area. I feel absolutely scammed. The rooms are dirty and worn out. We tried to refuse the room and wanted to just leave but they wouldn’t let us. The hotel manager wasn’t very professional either.
Stayed over Memorial Day weekend and was a bit nervous reading these reviews, but I’m glad we stayed because there was nothing wrong with this place. Our room was clean, the elevator worked just fine and did not wait more than 2 minutes for it. Room was a bit hot at first but all I did was mention it to the front desk and they immediately offered to fix it or change our room if needed. It is well worth it for the location. I think the people who wrote negative reviews must be used to staying at the Ritz.
Horrible Stay, bad ventilation, dirty rooms, could hear the club on the first floor all night. Never staying here again. Found many clumps of hair on the floor as well as on the desk. The rooms were always musty, windows don't open up so there was never proper ventilation.
