We - my 6r old son and myself - stayed in Karen and Paul's 2nd floor apartment for 5 nights, and we loved every minute of being there. The trip was part business (I had meetings close by on two days), part family holiday. All communication with Karen before, during and after the stay was swift, friendly, and very flexible... More

My Godson and I stayed for 5 days as guests of Karen and Paul. A wonderful apartment in an old town house in chelsea with a garden. This kind of stay is much better than a hotel. It is an ideal starting point to explore the city of New York, very closed to subway E (from JFK) and the new... More

The owners of this Bed and Breakfast have put a lot of thought into this property and it pays off. First this is a Studio/bed Sit with the bedroom, dining area and kitchen in the same area. However it is large enough not to feel cramped and was never an issue for us. The kitchenette is well equipped, the bathroom... More

I've stayed in a few places in the city, midtown and further downtown and this is my pick. I would always opt for an apartment over a hotel room and this is bright, spacious, clean, comfortably and thoughtfully furnished and convenient to the subway, restaurants and shops. Our hosts, Karen and Paul went above and beyond to be helpful to... More

What a great location and peaceful refuge. Chelsea feels like a small town carved out of this big city, yet the subway and high line are only a few blocks away. Super friendly hosts, Karen & Paul, make you feel right at home with helpful advice about the best neighborhood eats, theater, arts, etc. We loved lounging in the garden... More

After a couple of days in the centre of NYC Time Square at a conference we were relieved to be in this lovely well equipped comfortable space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A garden in chelsea turned out to be just what we were looking for set in a delightful area close to many amenities. The... More

We had the pleasure of staying in the courtyard apartment, it was home away from home for us and a welcome break after a very busy 4 weeks touring in Europe. The apartment is extremely well equipped and comfortable, we enjoyed being able to prepare our own breakfasts before heading out sightseeing each day & even ate in on a... More

This is an excellent location from which to explore NYC,and this factor alone can influence the overall quality of your visit. Two couples, our friends took the basement, and we took the 2nd floor one bedder which is extremely functional for what you need to be out and about mostly but a retreat when downtime and sleeping is required. The... More

We had the basement rooms , my son and girlfriend had the upper level with separate bedroom. On reflection I think they got a slightly better deal! Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
