We have recently returned from a long weekend in New York City. Even though we used to go to the USA quite frequently, it is about 10 years since my last visit to NYC, and it has certainly changed. More expensive - certainly - especially with the low value of the pound. Hotels in New York have always been expensive,...

If you want a roomy apartment with a really great kitchen - AKA is the place for you. The location is really good - between Time's Square and Bryant Park. Great staff, fast to help with everything. The kitchen is very well equipped - we cooked almost all our meals in it.

We are a family of 5 with 2 teenagers and a 6 year old. We loved the AKA. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor. Unfortunately we did not have a room facing the street which did make our apartment very dark. This is pretty standard though in NY. The apartment itself was great. Very large by...

We do a fair bit of research before booking a hotel, and on paper this hotel really hit the mark. Well priced, excellent location, and good features (kitchen, washing machine). In practice, it met and then far exceeded expectations. The room (really an apartment) was beautiful with lovely wooden floors, lots of light, a nice view towards 44th street and...

I traveled to Manhattan with three other people in tow, so I needed a two-bedroom place for our week-long stay. After miserably unsuccessful attempts to book "available" flats through VRBO and Airbnb, I turned to hotel-like alternatives. Searching through commercial flats lead me to the AKA properties. AKA Times Square appeared to offer everything we needed, except a second bathroom....

Four of us in a two bed apartment - brilliant location, big apartment with everything we needed, super helpful staff and lovely space upstairs for hanging out outside the apartment (free coffee and tea in the morning, big windows with views down the street and an outside patio). Very quiet even though it was so central, NY was freezing but...

We had an outstanding 7 night stay in New York in February 2017 and the AKA Times Square (which a friend recommended) was without doubt a contributor to that experience. The staff were fantastic. The location was great and the accommodation (deluxe studio with study) was exceeded our expectations. We prefer staying in apartment style hotels as they better suit...

Perfect location, just off Times Square, but without the bustle, traffic and noise. Clean, spacious, well equipped two bedroom apartment. Huge beds, (although the kids would have preferred one bedroom to be single beds.) Reception staff unfailingly courteous and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days for our honeymoon in October. We arrive around 10:00 at night and were kindly greeted by front desk. It is a boutique hotel with a small lobby. It is located near Times Square, 2 minute walk, and away from all the noise. Perfect location! Our room on the 10th floor was...

Excellent location and great accomodation. We very much enjoyed our stay here. A very good sized apartment. The staff were great. Unfortunately one of the lifts wasn't working for our entire 12 day stay.. which seemed a long time! I would also suggest a bedside table on both sides of the double bed would be nice, but overall I would...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
