We found the Hotel on a discount site and they had cancellation options up until the day before. The reviews on Trip Advisor seemed fine, but it was VERY helpful to have read through them as the room they gave us was tiny, with a kind of weird set up. Based on having read other reviews, I quickly went to...

There were flakes of dead skin in my bed, so, clearly, that was a huge negative. The room itself was spacious by Manhattan standards, and the bathroom was super clean, but, the ick in the bed was nasty. There were NO BBs however, so, relief there. The lobby was cheesy--the red sofas looked dirty and gross--and the elevators were old...

I was very pleased during this first stay. Amazing location near Times Square, Rock Center, subways etc. and yet the street is relatively quiet. Very safe location. Modern decor. Coffee in the small lobby in the a.m. and a bowl of apples at the front desk all day. Our room was small but with a queen bed perfect for 2...

This hotel was good but did not blow us away. For a four star I would expect some additional touches and customer service that goes the extra mile - whereas this hotel was inoffensive but did the job. It is very limited in its amenities, probably due to the amazing location. Right next to Times Square you couldn't be more...

We saw an ad for the Mela Hotel in Times Square for a "Winter get away". My, husband and I along with our daughter and granddaughter booked two nights and had a wonderful experience. They upgraded our room and my daughter's room to a king size, which was very nice, plenty of room. We all got vouchers for breakfast at...

We went to Mela because we had our dog and they "accepted" but if you go with your pet be aware about the $ 150 fee... For less expensive my dog could have had a "special dog care" in another hotel... But the reason that makes me hate that hotel was that I have paid to have an expresso machine...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mela Hotel. A 100 yard walk to Times Square meaning a great location. Very friendly staff and room perfectly clean. Excellent restaurant SAJU. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay

We booked this hotel by bidding on priceline for $125 a night, 2.5 star in Times Square. I was very impressed with the location. It's just a short one block walk from all the glitz and glam of Time Square yet the street was quiet and not nearly as busy as the center of Times Square. The hotel lobby is...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Mela. It was in a great location - we could walk to Times Square and easily get on the subway to anywhere we wanted to go. The room was small, but I'm not too concerned about size when it comes to NYC - everything even slightly affordable is small. Clean, well kept...

This was our first time in New York and we couldn't have picked a better location than that of Hotel Mela. It is extremely centrally located which allowed us to be in the epicenter of all the tourist attractions we had on our itinerary. From this location we were able to get to a lot of locations by simply walking...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
