Terrible place, rude people, they just want to take your money, steel it, rip you off... the staff horrible, very dirty place, Advice stay away from that place. the location, in a dirty street in new york, no parking place, really hard to find, they try to advertise it as an old historic but its is actually old and dirty.

First off, it's a nice little old tenement building, which is fitting as the New York City tenement museum is just across Orchard St. I found the desk staff to be just fine, although a little pressed. You see, one of the upside/downside of this place is that they offer dormitory rooms, either female or mixed. A man in front...

This hotel only provides bare necessities i.e. a bed and washroom. It does not have laundry services (although there are multiple nearby), breakfast (paid cafe downstairs) or locker services (leave your luggage in your dorm). The place is clean and is in a posh area, near to Chinatown and Little Italy and multiple subway stations. I took the 6 bed...

My boyfriend and I booked hotel on hotel tonight, we didn't get to hotel till about 10 pm as we were in Staten Island visiting friends. When we got there we were told we had to wait for a room?! What? I guess the front desk guy was covering for his friend who went and got take out. I was...

Had no issues with anything! The staff was very friendly! Great area to stay in. Plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distant. The Subways was a quick walk away. And the Front desk women even help us pick out the best bars for us!!

I never leave reviews or complain at hotels or hostels, but this was a truly awful experience. Really miserable stay. Screaming in hallway and banging doors until 3am. Windows aren't sealed so it's extremely noisy from cars and honking. Complained to night manager on duty but wasn't able to fix and wouldn't switch us to a different room. Came down...

This place was amazing. Not only did the staff welcome us, thank you Addie, she also remembered a phone call I made asking about a Balcony view and upgraded us prior to our arrival. We found the room to be large and accommodating, clean, and affordable. We had tickets to a show and could not wait to get back downtown...

Our stay at the Blue Moon Hotel was just lovely. It's situated on the Lower East side in a great neighborhood which is worth exploring on its own merits. The Tenement Museum is across the street and there are so many wonderful nooks and crannies within blocks (Casa Mazcal, Vanessa's Dumplings, Russ and Daughters Jewish deli, and more). The staff...

I can't speak as to the quality of the hotel itself, but the staff was unhelpful. My fiance and I were hoping to relax and get some work done while waiting to travel elsewhere. I booked through Dayuse.com last week; our room was reserved starting at 9:00 a.m. We ran late because of subway issues (many lines were experiencing re-routes,...

I was excited to stay at this hotel as it was an artsy hotel. I was told to park at 59 Allen street and that parking would be $38. When I arrived I found out there was no relationship with the hotel and that it was $50 for an SUV. We walked our luggage to the hotel to keep them...

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
