Located on an off the pace 40th.street but very close to the theater district and Times Square. Going to the theater easy. Just walk out the door and walk just a few short blocks. Want to take in TImes Square, the same short walk. Grand Central Station, Amtrak Union Station, the same short walk. The hotel was clean and very... More

Stayed for 5 nights at Residence Inn for our first trip to New York. From arrival to departure we found the staff very approachable and helpful. The room was more spacious than many we've had in capital cities. The location is great with Times Square in one direction and Bryant Park and the subway in the other. The deli on... More

My wife an I stayed there overnight while we did some site seeing and saw a Broadway play. The room was very comfortable and larger than most NY hotels. Very clean and nice views of the city. It was a short walk to our play and restaurant. And, very close to Bryant Park and the subway system. The service was... More

Two friends and I shared a room at this excellent hotel, and four other friends shared two other rooms. My room was not large, but was adequate for a king bed and a sofabed. There was a kitchen with a microwave. We all enjoyed our stay at this hotel in New York City, and were able to walk easily to... More

We stayed at this hotel on a family trip to NYC; one we make every 2-3 years. This was our first time staying here. We had read previous reviews: some negative regarding staff and other problems so we weren’t sure what to expect. For the most part we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located about a block or two... More

This is my first choice when traveling to NYC for business. I love the location, close enough to times square to get to everything yet, far enough away to avoid the crowds, noise and lights one experiences when actually staying on 42nd. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds and linens are very comfy and inviting and the breakfast... More

Daycavtravel: Thank you so much for your TripAdvisor posting. I am so happy to hear we are your first choice when traveling to NYC. I think you make a great point about the closeness to Times Square but being away from the madness makes it the best of both worlds. Our breakfast buffet is always a hit with our guests.... More

Very nice accommodations and friendly staff. Room size was typical NYC modest (king bed and sofa sleeper) but was well appointed and the daily maid service was great. Kitchenette with microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and utensils was convenient for snacks. Nice, if repetitive, morning breakfast buffet - scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, breads, juices, and assorted cereals -... More

Ricksaltlake: Thanks for your detailed posting of my hotel. I’m so glad you enjoyed your accommodations! You make a few great suggestions for our guests, especially about the elevators. We do get very busy during breakfast especially on the weekends. We always suggest for those guests who are early risers to go to breakfast early (before 8:30am) to avoid the... More

I love New York.....Highly Recommend this Hotel, Great Position. Very close to Times Square, but at the same time away from it's hustle & bustle. Had an OK stay here. The rooms were large, service was good. I suggest bringing ear plugs, as I found the traffic noise loud- which is expected given the location. I also smelled truck exhaust in the morning rush hour, yuck. The elevators are also slow and cramped. Stay here for the space and location.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
