I really don't understand why there are people that have the nerve to rate this hotel/hostel as excellent! They must be friends with the owner. Also it's nonsense to remind people that they shoul'dn't expect much because it's a hostel. True, you can't expect luxury for this price, but even a hostel has to be clean! The only thing that...

me and my partner spent 10 days over xmas and new year in new york. As it was our first time we wanted something basic as we would be out all day. We found the mount royal to be perfect for what we needed. We had a clean room, clean comfy bed with clean sheets, hot water and fantastic location!...

Unfortunatly i stayed here for one week - one week to long!! The room was small and dirty, the door did not lock properly and the cooking smells that came through my door from the people who actualy 'LIVE' in this hotel were disgusting. This hotel used to be an apartment block - SRO'S, and some of the tenants still...

This was my second time in New York with my girlfriend. We found the hotel easily, and the location is quite nice, only two blocks away from the metro. It is also close to a Starbucks, McDonalds, subway (sandwichbar), Dunkin Donuts and Duane Reade. Our (first) room (no. 624) was very small, and placed right next to the bathrooms. The...

I've never get ripped off like that ! I've book through internet a couple of days before but when we arrived, the hostel was overbooked. They proposed us one stinky room in a third building on construction, without any sheet, no paint on the wall, big holes on the floor... Just incredible and unacceptable ! Of course we paid to...

This place is really OK. Why do people expect the most when they choose for the cheapest option in town? It's a NYC bargain. The building is old but the location is perfect and safe, the staff is friendly, rooms are fine and the bathrooms are cleaned every day.

First impressions were not bad then we got to our room(a small cupboard and found out that they had given us a double bed even tho we stated when we booked that we needed two singles. The hotel is the cheapest possible on Manhattan (as far as I know), and the best possible for the price. The rooms can be small, but they are clean; the bathrooms are well taken care of; the staff is friendly; the location is also great, as the hotel is a block and a half from a subway station. If you...

This was quite frankly the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Had we not arrived so late in the evening we would've moved on to a different hotel. The room was awful, with hairs and blood specks on the sheets and pillows, ancient broken furniture and a mould on the ceiling and walls; the staff were rude and spoke very...
