We've stayed at the High Line Hotel three times, most recently last weekend and loved it every time. The High Line is different from any other hotel we've stayed in in New York. The location is somewhat afield from usual Manhattan locations, but is perfect for exploring the High Line, Chelsea and other hip westside neighborhoods. A former Episcopal Seminary...

Love this hotel overall but the antiques and old rugs in rooms have a very odd (i suspect mildewcide) smell. It bothered both myself and my colleague's throats/lungs. Also, the lobby gets overrun by locals and their dogs (non-guests) coming to get coffee at Intelligentsia(a coffee bar in the lobby). For almost $500 a night this seems rather intrusive. Even...

My partner and I stayed here in one room this weekend, and my parents were in another room. Overall, I'm happy to have stayed here, but not sure that I would stay here again. We stayed in this hotel as it was 100% convenient to where we wanted to be in - Chelsea, just blocks from my brother's apartment. the...

Great location, a few blocks from Chelsea market, and from Greenwitch village Within view of the highline for an evening walk, and a block from the Hudson river walkway/bike path for a morning run, or a bike ride. Nice room, quiet location. Friendly, and helpful staff.

We stayed at the Highline Hotel the weekend of April 6-9th. Great location. The rooms were very large, especially for NYC, nice, interestingly decorated. There is a small bar in the lobby that doubles as a coffee bar during the day and a bar with alcohol at night. The people working at the bar were really nice and very service...

Thank you so much for your feedback and shout out to the Bar staff. I certainly would like to apologize for our housekeeping service and timeliness. Rest assure we take our guest comments seriously and we have already taken action to ensure that this situation does not occur again. Again thank you for your comments and please do not hesitate...

The Highline Hotel, as you will have read, was converted from part of an Episcopal Seminary that dates back to the late 1800s. (The other part of the building still functions as a seminary). Located in West Chelsea, on 10th Ave between 20th and 21st, the hotel is in a terrific part of the neighborhood. This is not a touristy...

This was the second time I stayed here. The hotel itself is so well-appointed, I love the furniture and decor in the rooms- it feels like being at a friend's house rather than a hotel. Great little bar on the first floor is good for coffee in the morning and good wine at night. Proximity to the High Line and...

Cool old building with interesting architecture, large patio, and great coffee shop. The staff is very helpful and friendly, rooms are restored, comfortable and spotless. The lobby is typically busy from Intelligentsia and all different breeds of dogs are usually present. Rooms can be a little small but, the location and appointments make it worth it. The Cook Shop restaurant...

Loved the hotel - wonderful staff and an upgrade to a deluxe King which was wonderful. Amazing that you don't hear the street noise. The lobby gets crazy busy with coffee bar but never too much to get in and out. There are a lot of dogs in the lobby in the morning and I could have done without but...

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
